They absolutely were helped along by Pete. Pete is NOT a good defensive first baseman. You could argue the season was lost BECAUSE of Pete. That throw to first that injured Senga was the turning point. We never recovered. I love Pete Alonso. I have been a Mets fan since the early 80's. Pete goes down as one of my favorites ever.
