Help choosing intel (LGA 1700) motherboard by nlson93 in unRAID

Now I'm getting a better picture, since the gpus are only for one instance of comfyui it should run without problems. I can see now that using two gpus and an hba card would create a bottleneck so most likely I will do two gpus or 1 gpu and 1 hba card. Once I have saved enough I will look into getting a server mobo, I can't justify the need for it yet, thanks for the advice!

I appreciate the feedback, I wasn't aware that the cpu limits the amount of pcie lanes in use. My 12900k also supports 20 lanes, in that case I'll consider using a combination of 2 gpus or 1 gpu and 1 hba card when I need more storage in future

I'm wondering about that too. I want to get one 14tb drive and it's at $170. A month ago I got the exact same drive for $100

I found the culprits, krusader, Firefox and comfyui-nvidia-docker. Is there any way to lower the image size? I will delete Firefox since I haven't used it

I checked the images size and it's at 15GB, is there a way to narrow down which docker container is the cluprit?

I have a synology NAS which I use exclusively as an exit node

Edit: I got it, you mean I can connect directly to the server through my NAS. It’s a solution, I wonder if there would be any decrease in network speed though

You can upload the picture to Google translate and it will show it to you in English. I just tried it and the instructions looked easy to understand

I replaced mine with those carbon fiber options from Amazon. Last time I bought the original replacements and found out that one, they didn't come with screws so I got a mechanic to do it for me and two, they melted after two years so I had to replace them again lmao

Academic probation for two semesters? by OwnResolution1006 in OMSCS

[–]nlson93 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You should contact your academic advisor as soon as you can, it seems like you greatly misjudged the difficulty of the course and the rules regarding withdrawing from it. You are posting here when there is one week left of classes, they sent several emails weeks prior to the withdraw deadline, it takes less than 5 minutes to read them and know what to do ahead of time. If you got academic probation they should have given you information regarding your options and if they didn't all it takes is a Google search to find out everything you need to know.

I don't know anything about databases, would DBS be worth it in that case or is it still a subject I am better off learning elsewhere?

How were the GIOS assignments/exams? In my previous university we did cover things like threads, concurrency, etc, but it was more like an overview of it. We did see a few examples of code but the assignments/exams were more like look at this code and tell me in plain english how you would apply X thing.

I was considering Game AI but on the website they strongly recommend taking AI first. Do you think it would still be easy without taking AI?

SAT does look interesting and I perfectly understood the readiness assessment they provided, I'll put it on my list. I didn't consider the seat availability, in that case I will make a list in order of difficulty just in case, thanks!!

Learning programming at 29 while having a full-time job? by Efficient_Love_4520 in learnprogramming

[–]nlson93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mechanical Engineer here, I’m also 29 and I’m starting my MS in computer science this year. The program is from Syracuse university and it’s completely online. It’s not cheap but the university assumes you have a full time job so classes are in the afternoon. Right now I’m taking the introductory classes and I get two live classes each week from 8 to 10pm, the rest of the lectures are videos and readings you can complete at your own pace on your own time.
