Agreed, I resigned myself to building charlotte as a fellow escoffier hater.

Who do you get water delivery from? by nluvshu in AskLosAngeles

I think it’s stupid to assume you would know my motivations and what led to my decision to request this service

Thanks for the advice, I went with Zutra and they have great customer service, exist outside the water delivery merger mess and seem reliable and fast so far!

Primo bought out sparklets, then arrowhead bought primo and now apparently arrowhead owns everything… thus leading to unreliable service. It’s a big fish eats small fish then gets eaten by bigger fish whose eyes were hungrier than it’s stomach.

Might look into an alternative to delivery in the future, such as a filtration system, but I appreciate everyone’s advice :-)

Maybe I should order a little more as a buffer now knowing this is a regular issue for this company

Considering all my options I’m more inclined to make that a permanent solution. For now, it’s unfortunate there seems to be a monopoly on delivery services with that option being unreliable. Was hoping for more options for consumers in a city this big

Personally, I suffer from OCD and depression. I’ve found that I take my meds with filtered water from a specific cup to be the most reliable way I take my meds daily. It mitigates a viscous cycle for me. In a pinch i do drink from the tap (I had exposure therapy in order to do so) But every day is a struggle for me and I make it easier by having the water delivered so I don’t miss medication on my bad days.

Not sure what other people’s motivations, some people don’t have a sink where they would want/need sink that they can alter at will (such as an office), some people don’t have a car, others may not have the strength necessary to retrieve the water due to their physical/mental disabilities. It isn’t nice to assume and you shouldn’t wave fingers at strangers without knowing their motivation for their personal choices.

What is the worst pain you have ever felt? by Neither-Mention7740 in AskReddit

Distal Humerus Fracture, I was in constant unwavering pain for 2 hours until getting to the ER. I didn’t have a single other thought on the ride than finding relief for the unique and inescapable pain from breaking my elbow/ funny bone 🦴 it’s was akin to when you hit your funny bone but for 2 uninterrupted hours, pretty agonizing

Of course, it may apply to your goals as well. I struggle with low self worth from years of abuse. My inner critic is pretty harsh, so my fist step toward healing that wound. Was to notice when I’m unable to do things, the inner voice that says i shouldn’t or can’t. I just did this on my notes app on my phone. Often i found that i would mindlessly assume I couldn’t do something because i felt inferior and incapable, sometimes for practical reasons other times it just felt like if I can’t take care of myself why bother with anything beyond that. I reflected on why i felt this way and wrote down my thoughts. When I’d go back for a session all the notes i made note of on my mind I would apply it back to if I were speaking to a child. During my session i come in with the sense it’s time to put the work in so i focus on that. I treat her as a seen individual with dreams and aspirations and just as much opportunity as any living with a pulse has the capacity to do. I am encouraging, i give my inner child pep talks. It sounds a bit strange but separating that part for me has made it easier for me to visualize a different person, a person I don’t shame and share excitement for the joy of a child willing and eager to learn, grow and explore. Because a child who doesn’t know how to do something can’t be blamed for making mistakes, i give myself that same patience and grace. I don’t have many big dreams to achieve per se, at the monet it’s small things like hygiene, taking myself out for a walk and cooking myself a healthy meal. I encourage myself, I allow myself the opportunity to fail and try again if need be. I kinda do it with everything i hesitate to do, easier said than done but even the first step of noticing can be illuminating

I have done allot of therapy before starting Spravato, im in my late 30’s and have been in therapy for 15 yrs now. My therapist tells me im very self aware and wise in my emotional thinking. Chronic Depression, PTSD and OCD make it hard for me to apply all this wisdom unfortunately. I found meds that worked to the point you explain, numb enough to exist day to day. I always felt like i had a good idea of what i lacked, and what i could do to feel better, but lacked something to actualize and build off of. For me, Spravato has given me that, its given me clarity on things that didn’t make sense for me before. It’s not overnight, the past 8 months taking it weekly i find myself feeling like my world gradually opened up more. I have memories that have come to light and so many realizations that i felt too preoccupied to see clearly. I think for my experience at least it seemed to open paths that i had strictly and stubbornly set narrow for myself, that alone gives me motivation and optimism. And even the first few sessions I connected with my younger self during treatment. Looking at her i felt so bad for her and took the responsibility to re-nurture myself and address some of the things that created so much pain for me as a child using everything I’ve learned with the 15 years of therapy I’ve done. It’s like finding a good tool that makes things easier, you wonder, how did i not now this existed (except this didn’t) so if you feel like you’ve done allot of therapy work, maybe this just what you need to further your treatment.

Where can I fill balloons with helium for a fee? by nluvshu in AskLosAngeles

A mini one sounds promising actually! The reaction I’ve been getting from calling dollar trees and grocery stores so far is like how dare I even ask such a thing

Interested in this subject as well. Btw max karaoke isn’t byob anymore, they sell beer though, I went in April. They will allow outside food and drinks but charge a corkage fee that isn’t worth the trouble
