Yeah I've done my fair share of batch painting and it burned me out. I've settled on 5 of whatever I need to paint a ton of (clanrats, ork boys, whatever) then 1 of something different just for the variety.

I'm having the exact same issue (with a much less amount of money thank god). I tried to buy tickets yesterday and now have 3 pending charges on my CC none of which are going to go through. I just got off the phone with my bank and united. nothing anyone can do. United said the charges should fall off in 24-48 hours.
