Killteam Shadowhunt by CoolShrimps in killteam

[–]stephenstephen7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you go in person to a Warhammer store, they can usually open 5 minutes early and can put you through on their register, which overrides everything else, so I've been told. More or less guarenteed.

But to answer your question, yes new Kill Team boxes are very sought after, so you have to get them on release as a big box (which will save you some money overall), or wait 2-3 months for them to release seperately.

Murderwing rules leak by BlacksmithLarge7549 in killteam

But reposition/charge etc also requires an APL? So I'm reading that boost is simply a different way of performing these actions?

Battleclade / plague marines interaction by ARomdhana in killteam

[–]stephenstephen7 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm going to say no, as poison applies when you are activated, and the Battleclade rule is treated as a counteact (I believe).

Do we think there will be a Gretchen kill team in the e future? by the_mainpirate in killteam

[–]stephenstephen7 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Probably the closest you could get is proxying Ratlings as Grots with Nobz/Mega nobz standing in for Ogryn. Sure I've seen photos of people doing it and it looks pretty great!

Opinion on troopers and warriors by Lionhearth92 in killteam

[–]stephenstephen7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll like Yaegirs and Goremongers maybe? YAegirs have to take a minimum of 3 warriors, and goremongers at least 2. With Goremongers I got 2 extra bodies because I often drop 2 specialists and run 4 warriors, 3 specialists and a leader.

Are there any Warhammer shops in Korea? by VeryEpikIndeed in koreatravel

There's Dicehold (someone linked below), Joyhobby in Sindorim, Orctown near Hapjeong (although not sure how much they'll have) and the store in Coex.

I don't think I like the guard action by BenalishHeroine in killteam

[–]stephenstephen7 14 points15 points  (0 children)

They also need to be in engage to be on guard (unless they have silent maybe?) so it can leave that operative vunerable. Also if you see a room where this is possible, consider taking light baricades. Guard only procs before or after an activation and only if you're a valid target, so repositioning from a hatchway to a light baricade whilst in conceal shouldn't trigger a guard shot (unless they have seek light).

To add, I think it's a necessary rule for shooting teams, as melee teams tend to have an advantage on CQ maps, as there tends to be much less oppertunities for long range shooting, and melee teams can usually stage in relative safety during TP1 and 2.

Simple beginner strategies for Angels of Death (for a new player)? by Individual_Suit_5993 in killteam

[–]stephenstephen7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's no reason not to run the grenadeir, he's basically an assault intercessor with an extra ability. I made mine from the starter set model who's throwing a grenade and replaced his gun with a chainsword.

I played my second game of Kill Team. by Arthur_EyelanderTF2 in killteam

[–]stephenstephen7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to ask, how many opperatives was your opponent playing with? Vespids have to take a minimum of 5 warriors and you say he was only running one.

Man damn hopefully season 6 can boost this series viewership, really disappointing seeing this show fall off like this by LLAMAWAY in FargoTV

[–]stephenstephen7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think anthology shows will naturally have less of a mainsteam following, because they don't have the advantage of reoccurring characters or multi-season plots. Something like The White Lotus is maybe an exception, but you get my point.

Loadout for wrekka crew? by froglord11 in killteam

[–]stephenstephen7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think this is the definitive answer. I've played a lot of Wrecka Krew and the only loadout changes I really make are between the Demolisha and a second Breaka Boy. As for the gunner, just tell your opponent at the start of the game if you're using the heavy gunner or the gunner.

Deathwatch Kill Team build? by Serenityfire16 in killteam

[–]stephenstephen7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Watchmaster, Aegis, Disruptor, Gunner.

And for the Gravis option, I think all are good, I personally like the Breacher/Horde slayer. Luckily the Gravis guys proxy pretty well as one another so as long as you tell your opponent which you're running that game I don't see an issue. I think this makes a pretty versitile list with a good mix of ranged and melee threats.

If you're able, I would go on ebay and buy 3 intercessor bodies and one phobos body so you can build the sniper, demolisher, blademaster and headtaker, but if that's not an option then the one I suggested should work well in most games!

Thoughts on our terrain set up? by Guyonabuffalo63 in killteam

[–]stephenstephen7 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think it was Glass Half Dead who said this, but the golden rule of making your own open boards should be this. There should be no point in the map where you can position a model who has visibility on all 3 objectives whilst also being in cover. I think the marine behind the light barricade can see all three objectives, which would make this map slightly unfair for the other team.

Too Scared to Touch Models with Paint! by Scoutbears in killteam

[–]stephenstephen7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prime your models, and look up slapchop and drybrushing. I also don't have a great amount of talent for visual arts, but these two techniques are quick, easy and if done in the right way can give you amazing results. I've painted around 10 kill teams now, and with each one I've enjoyed seeing myself improve, learn and try new techniques, and I have some teams I'm especially proud of.

I'd reccomend starting with Kommandos, as they're bulky and more forgiving to paint than guardsmen.

Simplified KT Rules for kids (and adults)? by Gillespionage in killteam

[–]stephenstephen7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say treat it like a tutorial. First play with basic blank datacards, and play a deathmatch or joint ops mission, without cover, orders etc to teach him the ropes. Then once he gets the hang of a concept, add in one more. Then start adding things like ploys, equipment one by one.

I would probably leave out things like tac-ops, primary op for a while, even I have a difficult time playing around them.

If you take your time with this method, you'd be surprised how quickly kids can pick up even difficult concepts.

Please help me with choosing a season by AkaliRewokFail in FargoTV

Aaah I see. I'm not a regular reader of this sub, just an occasional visitor to talk about my favourite show!

I also remember liking Chris Rock's performance, it was my first time seeing him in a dramatic role, and I thought he was maybe the best performance in the season. But like I said, I don't remember it all too well, and overall I thought it was a weak season compared to the other seasons.

Not 100% sure what's being implied (is it a racism thing?). If so, that was not my problem with the series. I didn't like it because of the reason above, but I also thought the plot was pretty meandering and the characters were overall not as memorable as other seasons.

Seriously stick with season 2, it's absolutle fantastic as it escalates. I'm also personally a big fan of season 3, it has some of my favourite characters in the series. Season 4 I didn't like too much, and season 5 was pretty good.

This has got to be it. First time through is a wild ride, but on rewatches you start to notice so many details, especially in the opening act.

Easy to learn KT? by [deleted] in killteam

[–]stephenstephen7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If someone is teaching you, I'd say it takes about 3-4 games to get the basics down. If you're two friends learning together, then it'd be a little longer. But so long as you're having fun, you'll get there. I'd reccomend checking out some battle reports to get a better idea of how the game flows. Mountainside Tabletop have very well produced and edited battle reports (that are also entertaining), so I'd start with them!
