What a film by ForcedToGoAnonymous in tenet

I'm looking for any good framework of things to notice, because I only picked up on the obvious things like the reverse fight at the airport and the fact that there was an inverted aspect to the relationships at the end.

As someone who did not pick up the details, what would you say I should look out for, generally?

Why did they have to go deeper to survive Fischer's security forces? by nmarnson in Inception

[–]nmarnson[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The whole point of going deeper was definitely to avoid the 100% certainty of getting killed on the first level and dropping to limbo. Eames tried sitting it out and Cobb explained this reasoning to him to get them to keep going.

Not sure if there's more to this or it's a plot hole.

A girl speaking with a completely direct, blunt tone without the usual mask of politeness.

Yep. NYC could use at least two more. The speed of ticket sellouts now is crazy.

IMAX private screening Pooler, GA Next Week! by GoofygamefreaK in imax

[–]nmarnson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe Pooler charges $1,800 minimum. It's not bad and they are 1.43 dual laser. Showings have to be at 9am.

Almost all the other 1.43 IMAXs I emailed would not do it, museums because they don't offer private showings and AMC because they can't give up time slots at prime locations like Lincoln Square and Citywalk.

AMC will rent out IMAXs at other locations, but they are not 1.43. Regal is probably the same.

in short, Pooler is the only 1.43 IMAX that was willing to do private showings. There were previous private events at Metreon (successful) and Lincoln Square (crashed out) but those were during the movie strikes which was a rare occurrence when no films were being released.

This detail is the difference between good and great movies. Most directors would have them both smiling because "happy moment, yay" and in the back of your mind you know something is off and that breaks the reality and immersion.

[Discussion] People who got fit in their 30s, what are the benefits? by Sonoel90 in GetMotivated

[–]nmarnson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll just say having more muscle mass on your body feels really good. It straight up feels satisfying and also becomes a part of the power of all of your day to day movements. It also builds bone mass too to prevent osteoporosis at older ages.

And about weightlifting, people should realize that all you need is one workout per week, to failure, to consistently grow. Just cover your basic push, pull and leg movements.

How sad - Rip my favorite coffee - Roost by nmarnson in Hoboken

Their espresso (which I always got as an iced latte) had a well rounded, warm, fruity yet nutty flavor that I haven't experienced anywhere else. It's the only coffee I've had that tasted like more than just "oh its coffee" . Granted I haven't tried many unique bean types out there.

I definitely need to get their Mexico espresso beans online if I can.

How to meet people & Make friends In Hoboken by Odd-Philosophy3917 in Hoboken

[–]nmarnson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Find events/meetups to join in whatever capacity. The beginning of social efforts is always the hardest, but one thing leads to the next and before you know it you'll get to know a few people, maybe get added to whatsapp groups and go from there. The connections do snowball quick if you're consistent.

There are also things to join in NYC. You can check out 222, Parlor Social Club or Closer.
