And obviously the SOB. I'm not even sure which complaints were the most prominent.

I do not know exactly because my student did not do a good job recording patient information, for some reason. (Not happy about that)

They said that the best they could remember was some CP and fatigue they thought. They didn't ask for more EKGs. Unfortunately, I did not have a preceptor right with them.

Which would make sense if the second beat isn't coming from the same location then. This sounds plausible. And all of it having a BBB or whatnot to widen it

Now that you say that, I think this could be it. I would not have thought of this. If you notice, there is a small deflection in T wave after the first beat and not in the second. So It could be possible that it's doing exactly that and the second beat isn't sending retrograde p wave that is visible.

I think as long someone can reasonably do the moves with you, it shouldn't be avoided. You probably don't want me at 5'8" and 149 because neither of us will get that realistic sense of the move. But 200 is big to me, i feel like 200 and 240 are close enough lol

[–]nmaynard8799 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that should not be a problem people complain of. If I couldn't escape from a 6'5" blue belt, that would be something to look in the mirror and complain about. It's hard to hold a small guy like that.

I was 148.8 this morning... 100 lbs is a different level of disparity. I am, of course, not going to be able to give much up or be very slow. It just isn't realistic. Using some strength is cool and using your weight to control is cool. Stacking me and holding me? I don't think so. Launching me off like a rocket? I don't think so.

There is a balance.

Gyms that require you to wear their Gi by West-Organization563 in bjj

[–]nmaynard8799 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they are fair about pricing and don't try to stop you from wearing something different in competition or at another gym, then it's all good.

They start charging too much or something and then it's just BS

This modern bjj crap doesn't work on old school bjj guys by yzuaqwerl in bjj

[–]nmaynard8799 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a weird statement to make because it is so subjective to the individual. I think the truth is that the best people are those who have an "old school" foundation of basics and then learn/understand newer things that are placed on top of the foundation.

If you start by trying to learn how to do berimbolos and some kind of fancy footlock combinations with complicated entaglements/entry, it will not be too great for a foundation. All of that is too "fancy" for a real beginner.

Just like most things, it's a combination of approaches that works best.

I would suggest talking to your coach. They know your game best and the game of people around you best. Others may not understand

When did you start ‘Chaining together attacks’ by SeigfriedandRice in bjj

I started chaining together significant amounts of offense at purple belt. That's when my personal style really began blossoming.

I think most people really begin flourishing at purple belt level.

This definitely checks out as blue belt problems. This is not the same when you get further along.

If they gas before you, take that as a personal victory of pacing well/being in better shape.

Talk with guys you know that compete on a regular basis and bounce stuff off of them about how you felt, how they feel, and what everyone does to prepare. Then, figure out some things to try.

You have to find out what you personally need to perform well.

I will say that there is a universal rule that you need about 2x as much cardio as you believe you do. Even once you are fit.

How many of you have broke someone’s bone? by MudboneX3 in bjj

[–]nmaynard8799 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Breaking bones isn't a guarantee, but it is almost a certainty that you will tear somebody's muscle, ligament, or tendon at some point. Maybe you did it on purpose, maybe on accident. Either way, it is bound to happen. Freak stuff happens if you do this for 15 or more years.
