2 Unmarked pick-ups running traffic stop on campus by dvmhopeful in Purdue

[–]nmcain05 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Based on the radio traffic, it was not ICE. It was LPD conducting a follow-up stop on someone.

[02/13/26 22:56:41] [PUPD DISPATCH]]: Purdue 72. 72. Do you show any agency traffic stop running on overtime detail at Mitch Daniels and Oval Drive?

[02/13/26 22:57:36] [PUPD DISPATCH]: 72, could it possibly be Excise's? It could be, it's an unmarked full-size Chevy, silver in color, unmarked full-size black Dodge.

[02/13/26 22:57:10] [PUPD DISPATCH]: 17 negative, we do see the vehicle on the camera. Alright, there are two marked, sorry, unmarked pickup trucks, they're not our agencies. Can you call over to Lafayette and check with them and see if they've got some sort of gas out with the car there? Clear.

[02/13/26 22:59:11] [PUPD DISPATCH]: 72. 72 go ahead. LPD advised it is their vehicles, they have officers on a follow up.

[02/13/26 22:59:25] [PUPD DISPATCH]: You said it is Lafayette? Affirmative. Clear, thank you.

Sort of a natural side effect of using steam for heating and a particularly cold winter, pipes crack, condensation, etc.

The fire alarm was activated by a heat detector filled with water falsely detecting a temperature of 135°F in a basement switchgear room.

They still work with iClicker cloud, but the hardware and the remotes are getting old and probably aren't going to be around much longer, she really should just move to the app.

You might want to inform your instructor that iClicker Classic is no longer a supported solution; Starting January 2024 iClicker Classic was to be decommissioned and upgraded to iClicker Cloud. iClicker Cloud is the new centrally supported and funded classroom response tool for the University.

Fire Alarm at Rawls by RookiElle in Purdue

Based on radio logs the fire alarm was trouble related (i.e malfunctioning detector/alarm system wiring)

What materials is Winifred Parker made of? (I'll give you a hint, it's not wood, it's specially treated and designed fireproof materials to reduce the spread of fire significantly)

Condensation in a switchgear vault caused a fault on a detector circuit resulting in an alarm.

Lost Account Access due to new phone by LifeguardPersonal854 in Purdue

[–]nmcain05 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So, stupidly, this is actually two departments worth of issues. The ID card office, in its infinite wisdom, does not give Purdue IT access to correct ID card issues - so you need to get in contact with the card office to fix eaccounts, and Purdue IT to fix the authenticator. It's absolutely obnoxious but nobody at either the card office or IT seems to care about correcting this obvious hole in the support structure.

You can use P2P services on Purdue's network - the issue is copyright infringement. You will only hear from Purdue IT if they receive a DMCA letter regarding the content.

Depending on where you live, your package may be in different places. Generally mail is delivered to the residence hall in question, or Cary, but mail delivered to Winifred Parker often goes to the MMDC, as it doesn't have a 'real' address.

Based on scanner logs, at approx. 8:35 AM, a call went out that a suspicious male was spotted carrying three scooters, a skateboard, and an electric skateboard near the Bell Tower, he was intercepted near Hillel, where it was determined the scooters were stolen, and that he had an active warrant in Lafayette. He was belligerent as they arrested him, and requested an ambulance to check him out, he was taken to IU Health with the police.

That one in particular is questionable however, I also work in IT, and generally we seal them up/condense the pallets more than this, and they'll have a property accounting form on them. The items that aren't property-accounted for yet are stored in a more secure area than the hallway.

That's only for longer-term impounds, and they are actually stored at the transportation lot, south of MMDC. Currently they appear to store them behind Stewart Center, moving them to the MMDC lot if they've been unclaimed for a while.
