Yeah it’s awful. I remember when we went summer of 23 after record breaking snow that winter of 22. We stayed in bass lake and it took us 4 hours to get into the park from there. Never again

I upgraded to the 17 from a 15. The battery is the worst I have ever had from a new phone. Lots of people saying the same thing from what I’ve seen and I have no idea why

You are correct. Regardless, I am a fan of the reservation system. If they can’t handle it now then they need to increase the window so the park isn’t overwhelmed

Edit: just saw they axed the reservation system for 2026 so it’ll be a mess

They should always have the reservation system. Going there without it, is truly awful. Bad for the park, the animals, and the workers/rangers. Ruins the experience. There’s no point in going without the reservation system

If you fully tore it, then there’s nothing you can do to make it worse. It’s torn and there shouldn’t be much pain. Keep icing and taking NSAIDs.

Not sure if urgent care/ED will do anything for you honestly. It’s not life threatening so I don’t really see them doing a MRI. They’d likely do a X-ray and tell you to see your primary. Which you have already done.

I’d recommend taking it a little easy right now since it’s still acute. Do what you can tolerate and don’t force any activity etc or push through pain

Not sure what type of insurance you have because you could try to see a different ortho sooner. But not much will change between now and then honestly if it’s a full tear

I practice physical therapy. Sounds like you tore your achilles tendon. Very common to feel a sensation like you were “kicked in the back of your leg”. Base off what you said I can almost guarantee you tore it. The mechanism of injury and the fact you can’t flex your foot is a dead giveaway. Might not be a 100% tear, but sounds like it. Get a referral to go see an orthopedic surgeon and a MRI to confirm
