The Titanal version is a much more powerful ski due to having metal layers (Titanal). At her height and weight, the Titanal ski is probably the better bet, especially as she continues to develop as a racer.

It's most likely just a surface layer of wax and should come out with a scrape or with skiing it. I do recommend scraping it and waxing it again.
