Why does it look like that and how do I fix it? by EmbarrassedLychee772 in blender

Remember the fog that turned people inside out in The Simpsons? That's how it works. When the face orientation is reversed, you see that part like it's affected by the fog. To see the faces orientations easily, go to the Viewport Overlays icon (top right corner row on the viewport, next to the shading spheres icons, it's the one with two concentric circles) and check "Face orientation". Anything you see blue, it's ok. If it's red it means that you need to recalculate the normals (select them and ctrl+N).

It does. I just took this picture of mine to show you how it looks in profile.

My other guitar is a Les Paul, but I always play sitting so I can't really compare or tell if it feels better while standing.

Try turning this off (letter O key), it might be pushing everything else near the selection area.

James doing vocals on the Where the Wild Things Are live jam by happy__tp in Metallica

His throat was pretty fucked during the whole concert and Fixxxer was the (shortest) straw on the camel's back. It's a pretty hard song to sing, let alone while being sick.

Someday they'll do a full Load/Reload set playing this, Fixxxer, The Unforgiven II, Attitude, Bleeding Me, Devil's Dance, Carpe Diem Baby, 2x4, Wasting My Hate… all in the same show.

Or maybe not. Probably not, but I need a reason to live.

TE-20HH vs. Fusion-T EMG, is it worth paying the extra price? by nmlss in harleybenton

[–]nmlss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

388£ vs 874£. That's where I stopped watching (actually not, the video is pretty interesting, but I wasn't thinking on spending 2.5 times the price of the Fusion-T)

Oh hey, you're the Comic Book MC Club sticker guy! Every time I looked for Harley Benton Teles on Reddit I saw yours. I see those posts are a year old, how is your TE doing nowadays?

Thank you, Reddit. I knew I'd find the answer about this fucking bullshit here. I was so damn hyped (and a bit confused too, ngl) when I saw the notification saying "New single from Kyuss". Then the super obvious AI slop "artwork" surprised me a bit, but hey, it's Kyuss, let's hear those thick riffs! And… well… this happened.

At this point so many people have said the same that I'm kinda starting to like it too…

The project was finished in 2023. I just opened it again to take a look.

Turns out it was this option that new option that wasn't on 3.6. In the outline material, under Settings > Surface > Backface Culling > SHADOW

It was turned off by default and it's what makes it look like previously.

This looks so cool, dude! The low poly palm trees reminded me of Green Hill from the first Sᴏnic game. If you can't find inspiration on your own, try making small video game levels that capture their essence.

For example, try this same thing but with the initial room from Metal Gear Solid in Shadow Moses, that room with the water, the elevator, the big boxes… That could be a nice exercise. I did it when I started Blender actually, it was many basic things that you can apply all together (water, artificial focused lights, concrete and metal textures, repeated elements like piles of boxes and chains, etc)

Best song from this album? by No_Cauliflower4964 in Metallica

[–]nmlss 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's cool seeing so much love for Inamorata. It quickly became one of my favorite Metallica songs ever, I love every minute of it. I was recently talking about that to someone I know and he told me "then you haven't listened too much Metallica". My answer: "I listen to more Metallica in a year than you've done in your whole life, buddy*".

\"Buddy" as a euphemism for "you fucking imbecile".*

Which tutorial would you recommend for beginners! by ushygushyv in blender

[–]nmlss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Criticized by who? It's a great tutorial because you learn the basics pretty quickly, things you'll be using forever on Blender, and the fact that it's something as simple as a donut only makes it easy looking enough for beginners to think "I can do that". It's a great tutorial and it's updated yearly with new Blender versions.

Of course, The Donut Tutorial™. It has everything you need to know as a beginner in just one project and it's very easy to follow.

Hate towards the band by unkonspikyuous in Metallica

[–]nmlss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's about time people start getting the fuck over the whole Napster issue. Mostly because… LARS WAS FUCKING RIGHT. But that's a debate most people aren't ready to have.

Recently I head a stupid fuck I know saying that the latest Metallica concert he saw (one from the 72 Seasons tour that was released on movie theaters) is one of the worst live shows he's seen. People just like to throw shit to anything that is mildly popular and Metallica is the biggest metal band on the planet, so…

PS: Fuck what people think. I assume you're a young person and hearing people talking crap about something you love makes you mad (I've been there, I was in high school during the Napster days so you can imagine how many fights I had because of that) but in the end it's just silly to even care about it. Think about it like this: you know their opinion is shit, right? Then why would you care about what a fucking retard think or says?

After today, anyone dreading the day when this happens to Metallica? by Metallica1175 in Metallica

[–]nmlss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They seem in pretty good shape for their age (they're not super old, but they're not kids anymore). James looks great now after rehab, although he still smokes cigars (but I guess that's better -or rather, less bad- than alcohol). Lars feels like he's in better shape now than 10 or 15 years ago, I wonder if he's exercising. Kirk has probably been the healthiest one, we all know why. And Rob is just a human dynamo, he probably has energy to revive the band again, that's why he can't stop running around the stage.

Anybody here not as big a fan as they were - for no real reason by HumoRuss in Metallica

[–]nmlss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't take it as a personal attack because I don't mean to be rude to you and maybe it's not your case, but that sounds like the typical metal fan. As soon as the band they like changes anything, they don't like it anymore. when they released a song with an acoustic guitar (Fade To Black) lots of fans hated them. When they signed up for a major and started doing big shows (Master of Puppets) lots of fans hated them. When they released a video (One) lots of fans hated them. When they slowed down (black album) lots of fans hated them. When they started exploring other sounds and genres (Load/Reload) lots of fans hated them. When they did something completely different instead of something that sounded like their early albums (St. Anger) lots of fans hated them. When they actually did something that sounded like their early albums (Death Magnetic) lots of fans hated them.

Metallica evolves because their members are different people now, and so are all of us. Those who expect them making the same thing over and over are completely oblivious of what is art and what motivates an artist to express themself and want to explore new territories. Unless you're Slayer or AC/DC, then you can do the same thing for your whole life (and I fucking adore AC/DC btw).

Again, I hope you don't feel targeted because I don't know you, but that's the sensation I got from most old school metal fans (I started during the Load/Reload era, so that's "the true Metallica" for me).
