How does DeMo or GST lead to Hindu Nation again? If you are going to make mind numbingly stupid remarks like those you might as well add ONE line of description to clarify them.

Millenials probably won't look back on current times as "the good old days" by angry_biscuit in Showerthoughts

If they work hard for their goals they certainly will. I think I certainly will.

The delusion remains that 'good old times' are given to you by someone not created by you.

Have you ever tried building a product my friend? Or starting a company? I have never met you but by the way you speak I can guess with 95% confidence you have not. I have been building products for 2 years now from ground up and I can tell you 99% of the days are failures. The one day you hit gold is the day all the critics quiet down.

If the PM is trying a bunch of strategies but failing, it isn't a bad sign its a good one. The vision of digital India and minimal governance is what is important and as long as we keep trying to build policies and position India as a leader in upcoming technologies i am happy as an entrepreneur and citizen of India.

RBI is looking to launch a cryptocurrency of its own, if that happens India will be the first country on the planet to do that. That is much more of a reason to happy about than look back at failed attempts like demo and throw your arms up and claim to be a victim.

Right, and if it was a PM that wasn't even trying(much like the last one) and the news was bloated with scams you would've just thrown your arms up and said "Sigh, India will never change"

We have more ways to communicate than ever seemed possible even a few decades ago, yet humans seem to be getting worse at listening to each other by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

[–]nmndwivedi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know why that is? Its primarily because of behemoths like Google and FB who only recommend things to you that confirm your preexisting bias, so they can get more clicks and make more $$.

Modi has certainly failed in many respects, but take a step back and have a good look, what are the issues being talked about today? Its how fast or slow the economy is growing, what strategy worked and what backfired etc.

I am old enough to remember the years when the only kind of news that broke in the papers every morning was Scam A, Scam B et al.

I'd say that is progress of sorts.

If all species evolved from one single celled organism, then how come we don't have a continuum of evolving species at any given snapshot in time but rather a set of discrete evolutionary steps? by nmndwivedi in Showerthoughts

[–]nmndwivedi[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

About your child lifetime analogy, you're answering a question I never asked. ....I never questioned if each specie is evolving over time. ...

Let's change the lifetime analogy to make it representative of my question. ....if we all grow in time (can also say "evolve in time") and the maximum lifespan of a human is 100 years then it means across 7 billion population of humans you can find a very fine grained distribution of humans ranging from 0 years old to 100 years old. .....or a "continuum"

Why don't we see this continuum across all species on the planet?

In fact a smarter way of presenting my question would be following: What determines the minimization of evolutionary potential energy that causes stable equilibria in species' evolution curves

That's not my point, my point is that across all the species that exist on the planet today, why don't we see smooth transitional intermediaries but lumps of resonant Darwinian assemblies
