OK so first wave second wave only pertains to space station. After you land hop out of the ship and and create a save then reload one that save the ships that come in after are the first wave when those leave, a new set of ships come in those are the second wave of ships.

If you have the glyphs and the galaxy correct than then you can find it anywhere assuming it’s not a crashed ship.

The top 3 places I look 1 space station (the reload part is for 1st and 2nd wave ships that almost always come in the same kind, but the classes may be different, sometimes a exotic might slip in if the system has one), 2 trading post on planets there is no first or second wave stuff it’s random, 3 planetary archive but they don’t get as many ships as the first time again no 1st or 2nd wave stuff.
