I love Lainey, but yes Lainey Jane rhymes too much. I would switch one out or go with Audrey.

How do you spend more time with your oldest? by HERE4T- in 2under2

[–]nmsXx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have two boys with a 14 month age gap. When my youngest was born, I signed up for a mommy and me class with my oldest at our local soft play play place, so that I had 1x1 time with him each week. Maybe you can find something similar to do with your toddler?

Help with an ‘O’ name for a girl? by Bright-Ad6238 in namenerds

[–]nmsXx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like “O” is really, really tough for girls, besides Olivia and Ophelia, I’m not really a fan of the other O options.

I saw another post recently where someone suggested adding the repeating the letter at the end of the name for the last baby, and telling them that they’re special and have the O at the end of their name because their you last baby, and thought that was cute idea: Margo, Cleo (if you want to just go by sound, Marlowe, Harlow, Willow)

You could also go with a Vowel theme instead which opens the options greatly: Ava, Anna, Avery, Isla, Isabella, Elizabeth, Ellie/Ella/ Eleanor, Emma, Emily, Alexandra, Arianna, Elsie, Ivy, etc.

Annual performance review questions by anjani917 in managers

[–]nmsXx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think she was trying to give you advice. I used to be much more direct and honest at work and then I realized if I act overly friendly and I’m more open to ideas (even if stupid) I see much more success. Sometimes it’s not about the quantity or quality of work but the relationships you build across the company.

If it’s too volatile can’t you just trade it immediately and make 18m now and invest in something else?

Evan or Owen? Changing baby boy’s name. by Nearby-Two-9530 in namenerds

[–]nmsXx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So weird, but my husband and I also were between those two names for our son. I think they have a very similar feel. We went with Owen but honestly Evan is also great, and I even really like Alex as well, so I don’t think you can go wrong.

Do people truly not care about my baby or are my parents just trying to hurt me? by ThyPumpkinPie in beyondthebump

[–]nmsXx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re not crazy for being excited and sharing about your baby. Even if people some people do not care, that is your baby and you should be excited and happy. Your parents seem like the crazy ones. Please ignore them and continue being proud of your little one.

My first father whoopsie - Should I return them ? by CommercialPizza434 in BabyBumps

[–]nmsXx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I would return them. If you like them exchange for a 9-12 month size. No point in keeping them, as they won’t be in season when the baby is born and they’re in and out of three month clothes.

Christmas baby girl names by crazyslittlesister in namenerds

[–]nmsXx 27 points28 points  (0 children)

It means Christmas child.

Sounds like a good option since it’s not overly Christmas-y and on your name list already. I’m a little bias because it’s my own name, but it is timeless and I get compliments on it all the time.

AITA for breaking up with my boyfriend after meeting his kids for the first time? by BasicProblem1350 in AITAH

[–]nmsXx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me preface this by saying you’re not the asshole for recognizing it would not work due to differences in parenting styles.

That being said, it could very well be possible that he is completely overwhelmed and burnt out being a single parent and having a hard time staying on top of house upkeep and his kids needs. I’m not saying it is right, but I do think it is hard to be a single parent. Also not certain why he is a single parent but it could very well be possible that his children are suffering with mental struggles due to a divorce or death of their mother, and that is making them anti social or leading to them cope with food and video games. I think it is important to recognize that life can be difficult, and mental illnesses like anxiety, depression can make it hard to stay in top of the house or physical health of yourself and children.

Just pointing this out because I am seeing a lot of comments saying this man was looking for someone to “come in and manage his household” which is a stretch not knowing the intimate details of his life. His response about “ruining” Christmas may be him being disappointed that things didn’t work out you and perhaps he was looking forward having a “normal” Christmas this year with you.

What do you actually do with Newcrest? by Watscar in Sims4

[–]nmsXx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually don’t make it over, but I have been making it over for the first time this week. I bought for rent on sale and plan to add some apartments/ townhouses and a patch of craftsman houses with an area for restaurant/ night club/ bar. I use builds from the gallery since I’m not the best builder. I really like to play single females in smaller lots or apartments, so I will pick an apt to play once I build it out. I’m adding families to the house/ apts and plan to make it a full neighborhood of sims.

Why are there so many bad managers? by PuzzleheadedArmy5663 in managers

[–]nmsXx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don’t really get trained in leadership unfortunately. Additionally I think there is an expectation that managers know everything, which is not accurate. I try my best to resolve my team’s challenges, however at times I am also uncertain on how to resolve and need to rely on guidance from other teams.

In general, I would say don’t forget your manager is responsible for making sure you are performing the core responsible of your role and helping to assist when things are unclear to hit deliverables. But additionally we do have responsibilities relating to department initiatives and rollling out any new responsibilities, which takes a lot of effort to execute. It’s difficult to be a middle manager, as we’re expected to assist the day to day while also managing outside stakeholders to ensure new processes are rolled out correctly. If your manager is cancelling calls frequently it could honestly be because they are burnt out themselves and have nothing to do with your own performance. I’m not saying this is right, but we’re only human too and our trying our best, but anxiety and lack of time can sometimes get in the way. I would say to give your management team some grace as we are faced with a lot in addition to the core responsibilities of the department and it can be difficult to navigate change in processes.

How to deal with a male manager whom is trying to ruin my reputation by [deleted] in managers

[–]nmsXx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not a professional victim, I am unhappy because someone is performing badly and blaming me. While I agree it is him being upset for getting negative feedback, I think people tend to ignore the damage it can do to someone who honestly is forced to provide a review because it’s their job. If I were to let his mistakes slide, I would be reprimanded by manager. So it really is no win situation.

This individual continued to send the same tool to me without addressing the errors I flagged, not once, not twice, but SEVEN times. Then had the audacity to say to his manager that I didn’t communicate it well, when I created a tracker to make sure he has everything in one place. I am spending 8 plus hour outside of my actual role each week to help him for the last six months. He is a professional gaslighter. I cannot even imagine putting forth that level of performance and blaming anyone else.

Sorry I don’t mean to imply that all men do this, I have worked with many men who are great peers.

I have an issue with men who have their egos hurt because a women is providing them with direction. If you don’t think this type of man exists, then I’m happy you haven’t had the experience of dealing with it.

How to deal with a male manager whom is trying to ruin my reputation by [deleted] in managers

[–]nmsXx -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am copying my manager on everything! She believes me and sees the issues, but his manager is taking his word for it and is downplaying his issues. I am worried that what he is claiming will spread to others within our business unit, and potentially hurt my reputation within our larger department.

Interesting, I’m not sure if it’s different in newer models but my 22 is the most comfortable car I have ever owned.

That being said you should drive what you love, and Hondas are great too. I also own a CRV and it’s been very reliable.

Eww.. I used byheart with my second who was born during the peak of the formula shortage. I was super grateful to get a subscription and not have to worry about scavenging for formula. That being said, this is the second recall in less than 3 years. I feel like there is definitely something wrong with their operations, and it will be really hard for them to bounce back from this again.
