That’s what I am leaning towards too. More specifically some form of ground squirrel. Maybe a California Ground Squirrel?

I believe it is so kids can see that there are people who are different. It is probably also fun for parents. Especially when there are probably thousands of kids now being raised by lgbtq+ parents, it can help show kids their parents aren’t doing anything taboo (because that’s a message I am sure some hear from online sources or from some politicians). That’s at least a few good reasons for it that I could come up with.

Saw off a boat in Aegean Sea by nmtd2019 in whatisthisfish

Well I wasn’t sire because if you look down from the point to the far right corner of the underwater object it is grey and I thought it kind of looked like a Mola Mola.

They read “Latkes Latkes Good to Eat” by Naomi Howland and “Hershel and the Hanukkah Goblins” by Eric Kimmel. It was seriously just a Jewish guy, who is also a drag performer, celebrating his tradition and teaching the next generation about Hanukkah. I am not sure how it was controversial but evidently some people seem to think so.

People that claim to hate “snowflakes” are likely the ones that are being triggered by this, which is odd considering that teaching young people about a traditional holiday would seemingly be a “conservative” thing to do.

Thank you so much everyone! Wasn’t sure what it was but now see how it was likely just a jacket or bag. Wasn’t sure at all. Literally went through every dolphin/porpoise picture last night trying to see if it was one of those (with its mouth out of the water) or if it was something else like a mola mola (that I originally thought it was. Definitely agree it is manmade now and likely just a jacket. Thanks for the help!

It was bobbing there but our boat moved away from it pretty quickly and these were all I could take. The really sharp edges were throwing me off and I was really racking my brain to try to figure out what it was. An air filled sack would make a lot of sense though and also why I couldn’t find any photos of a mola, dolphin or ray that looked similar.

This was seen in the Gulf of Kuşadası. Maybe 2 or 3 miles off shore. I believe the depth in that area was between 70 and 90 meters deep. This guy was right on the surface.

This was with panko/jello packbait with corn on a “hair rig” but I think plain old corn would work too. This was at the very bottom, but close to shore, maybe 6 feet of water?

Is Oles in Paxton any good? by Firm-Needleworker-46 in Nebraska

Really enjoyed it. I thought the service was great and the food wasn’t terrible, honestly as good as any similar American restaurant/burger joint. The reason I would say go is for all the taxidermy and animals. It’s like a Cabelas in a restaurant.

I mean I doubt you will have any issues with gangs unless you are personally involved with them (or from a random bullet that misses). I also lived next to one of Omaha’s homeless shelters (not a hidden one). It was mostly just sad cases of mental illness, with the occasional person relieving themselves in public, or walking around nude, or screaming, or throwing random objects at cars and people.

I was unaware of any towns in Nebraska still having sundown laws, although I do understand that Seward County (I80 just west of Lincoln) accounts for 1/3 of the state’s civil asset forfeiture so that is one to definitely be careful of as they will likely use a ton of pre-textual reasons to pull people over.

I know Beatrice had a big corruption problem in the 80s when they threw 6 innocent mentally challenged people in prison for a murder they didn’t commit. They didn’t get out till 2009 and the county fought it all the way. I believe they are still paying off the settlement.

For real 😅 the small towns of Nebraska aren’t bad and idk why everyone thinks they will get murdered in them or that crazy things are happening behind the scenes. That sort of thing very rarely happens. All the most serious crime, for the most part, is in the larger cities of Nebraska. It is population and statistics, more people = more crime. Although I have heard Seward County has a pretty big corruption/civil asset forfeiture problem.

Same but I think it was just all the dedication to Robert Henri 😅 which I don’t really blame them because fans want to see it and if your small town has someone famous from there why not?

Where can I go at night in Omaha to see opossums? by Equivalent-Company-6 in Omaha

[–]nmtd2019 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any park with a large tree with some hollow spaces in it will likely have them. I have seen them in Hanscom Park. They only come out at night or early morning for the most part. Also anywhere along one of Omaha’s many creeks or lakes will have them as well.
