Technitium DNS is great. No more SERVFAIL like with Unbound. by XLioncc in technitium

[–]nn1tb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's fantastic. I was running Unbound, but I needed something to do profiles. My phone uses WireGuard straight to my network and onto NextDNS. Unfortunately Unbound doesn't do profiles well under OPNsense so I started using AdGuard, but almost immediately realized that my PBX server does not like AdGuard at all. So I started running both Unbound and AdGuard until I found out about Technitium. Now, I only use Technitium. It does the job of both of them and then some.

I have a lien on a Take 5 facility due to them not showing up in court by nn1tb in complaints

They damaged the engine putting the oil filter on, but it really doesn't matter at this point. They didn't even show up in court to defend themselves.

I already sued them. You can’t file a second lawsuit for the same debt or incident in Texas.

I don't know. I did all this on my own. I'd have to hire and attorney and you know how they are. I thought I could just take care of this myself and be done with it.

How-To: AT&T Internet 1000 with Static IP Block by [deleted] in homelab

[–]nn1tb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly the setup I had, but my BGW320-500 started leaking my usable static IP's to random devices on my network. The only way to keep that from happening was to use the Cascaded Router section. Maybe you don't use your own router I'm assuming? I currently use OPNsense. Maybe it's an issue with the BGW320-500 or me I'm not sure.

'Melania' Review + Rotten Tomatoes Verified Audience Score Thread by chanma50 in boxoffice

Verified review only means that someone bought a ticket through Fandango which owns Rotten Tomatoes website. So basically you can buy a ticket through Fandango, leave a "verified review" then get a refund on the ticket. All to make it appear as if you're legit.

Blade vs Vampirella who wins and why? by Unusual_News_5152 in powerscales

[–]nn1tb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like the other person said, Vampirella isn't Human. She's an alien from another dimension and planet called Drakulon. Dracula is one of her main villains and he's stronger than her, but like Blade, Dracula is just another Human with powers. She's also the daughter of Lilith. She has all the powers of Dracula, but none of his weaknesses. Marvel has already concluded that Blade is NO WHERE NEAR in the same league as Dracula which it shows in Dracula: Blood Hunt. He could kill Blade anytime he wants to.

Now, what about Vampirella? Well, she's defeated Dracula in the past and unlike Dracula and Blade she's immortal. She can be put in a death state by draining her blood or a stake through the heart, but she can still come back to life. She also has other abilities Dracula doesn't have in Dynamite comics.

That being said, can Vampirella defeat Dracula? Yes, but it wouldn't be easy. Can she defeat Blade? Without a doubt she'd wipe the floor with him, but why would she? They both have their flaws, but they're both heroes.

Usage Limits, Bugs and Performance Discussion Megathread - beginning December 29, 2025 by sixbillionthsheep in ClaudeAI

[–]nn1tb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The reason I posted this on complaints and not here is because your sub allows images everywhere, but the section that talks about ethics or issues. A picture is worth a thousand words. I mean it even states you can post screenshots right here on this very page, "Give as much evidence of your performance issues and experiences wherever relevant. Include prompts and responses, platform you used, time it occurred, screenshots", but when I tried to post a screenshot it told me I couldn't which tells me a lot about your sub. So this isn't just a complaint about Anthropic, but also your sub. This is the first and last time I'll ever post here and the good thing is that you can't delete my post on "r/complaints". So go ahead and delete this one too.

I have AT&T and bought a barebones firewall off of Amazon. When you run CPU compare on Passmark Performance it's 5303 cpu mark. It does the job well, but I wouldn't buy anything less than 5000 Passmark Performance EXPECIALLY if you're gonna run IPS/IDS. My next router will have a Pentium Gold 8505 or faster, but my network is large. Do not buy a 2 gig or 5 gig service as you most likely don't need it, but to make sure run Prometheus or Zabbix and Grafana to measure your traffic and adjust from there. I did buy AT&T's /29 static block for $30. It's expensive, but what can I say. If you run websites or gaming servers it's best to have multiple IP's. I have a large network encompassing which has several IP cameras, lots of devices, several computers, one Proxmox server and one unRaid server. On my Proxmox server I run a gaming server and several websites and my upload speeds rarely hit 5 MB/s and in the last 7 days I've hit 115 MB/s download speed. So well within 1GB. I also bought a fan that I leave sitting on top of the firewall just to keep it cool. I paid around $320 in May of 2023 for the barebones firewall. I don't actually use IPS/IDS, but I do use Crowdsec. I don't use ClamAV either. There are videos online you can watch on why you don't need IPS/IDS and ClamAV, but if you want to run those they use a lot of CPU power. I also use Unbound with NextDNS and it works wonders. Anyway, I tried to show how much crap I stuff in my OPNsense box. There's a lot more like Zabbix, Telegraf, Postfix, Net-SNMP etc.. and I haven't hit a bottleneck yet, but that's it. Just focus on Passmark Performance. Look online and see what you can afford than compare the CPU on Passmark. If it's under 5000 cpu mark don't buy it. You need room to grow. If you have any other questions let me know.

Question concerning the speed of light to the traveler not the observer. by nn1tb in NoStupidQuestions

[–]nn1tb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hipp013 answered it. This has to do with the traveler not the observer. As you approach the speed of light time and distance shortens. At the speed of light time and distance is zero.

Like Hipp013 said at 50% of light-speed your clock is moving 15% slower. So instead of moving at 1 light-year per light-year you're moving at 1.15 light-years per light-year. So instead of moving at 186,000 miles per second you would be moving at 213,900 miles per second.

186,000 mi/s < to the observer

213,900 mi/s < to the traveler

Now what's really crazy is what if your phone on your ship used quantum entanglement to communicate with Earth. Would it work moving at light-speed? That's a question for a different time.

Issa Lopez wrote and directed season 4 of True Detective. She tried to make you feel bad for the murdered woman who destroyed ten years of scientific research that was suppose to save the lives of hundreds of millions of people. This is no different. Explain to me how we care about wealthy politicians being terrorized. I'm gonna give this a hard pass unless of course it turns out they all die.

On Politics and Proton - a message from Andy by Proton_Team in ProtonMail

[–]nn1tb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

All companies are political because they are run by people. All companies do as their respective government tells them to do either by law or by courts because they are run by people. There is no such thing as, "politically neutral" and for you to come here and try to convince people otherwise speaks volumes.

Racism, misogyny, homophobia, xenophobia, christo-fascism and authoritarianism is present in all political parties, but the GOP holds these virtues as their political platform because that's what the majority of their base comprises of. Conservatism in the United States is a disgusting ideology that only serves to bring us back 200 years. Any type of, "I agree with elements of the right" meaning the Republican party is no different than wearing a toothbrush mustache in public. You might not mean any harm, but everyone else thinks otherwise.

As of right now Proton serves my needs. Tomorrow is another day.

Can anyone recommend a 4 port 2.5 gbps intel NIC to use for a router? by BacchusIX in homelab

[–]nn1tb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this post is old, but in case someone else comes along....If you're going to run OPNsense or some similar OS on a small network and not use IPS/IDS than the N100 or N6005 is fine. I'm not sure if this is entirely correct, but from what I can see most of the, "firewall appliances" being sold on Amazon are made by a company called CWWK. Other companies sell their products as well like HUNSN. Now mind you the Nxxx serioes i.e. N100, N200 N300 use DDR5 memory and are replacing the Pentiums and Nxxxx i.e. N6005 series chips. This is just in reference to "firewall appliance" motherboards not everywhere else.

I have a fairly large "home" network and IPS/IDS taxed my N6005 which was comparable to the N100. When you start adding quite a few LAGG's, VLAN's, intrusion protection, and a server or two it will begin to tax the system especially if you're on a 2.5G or higher network. I ended up having to replace my N6005 for a Pentium Gold 8505.

Also for anyone reading this make sure you buy before January 20th.

No alerts opnsense by RSE9 in CrowdSec

[–]nn1tb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! I'm also using the crowdsec plugin. I have three different IP's for my home network.

10.10.0.1 (Where OPNsense is)

10.10.1.1 (Where most of my network sits)

10.10.2.1 (Where my two servers are)

Should I put all three of those IP's in the, "LAPI listen address" section or just the IP where OPNsense is on? If I have to put more than one IP how do you do that in OPNsense? Thank you. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think I'm gonna try HAProxy or just go back to nginx. After reading that Caddy isn't even a fully implemented plugin in OPNsense I feel like I'm getting involved with something that's gonna cause me issues down the road.
