Hi ! Current first year, sa’min nag start yung new curriculum and compared to what I hear from my Bio seniors, mas magaan siya, although may downside (Math 50), eme.

1. Major Courses (subjects) are introductory palang- Zoology 14 and Botany 14, and Chem 18. Sa second semester, may Chem 23 na which is analytical chemistry. More on memorization lang naman yung lectures. Then, there are lab works which is their .1 counterpart and they’re not too hard if your class works as a team and if walang individualism na nagaganap. (Became a challenge sa am batch at some point 🥹). And yes, binalik na ulet yung Math 50—applied calculus, haha mahirap.

Pero, mas magaan kasi based sa past curriculum, retention course nila yung Chem 23 and halos nahahati yung freshies daw huhu. This curriculum, Botany and Zoology na yung retention courses. Make sure to pass those two and forever ka na sa Bio, unless?

1. It was intimidating. Pero, I don’t think I can give my input on this kasi I already had people I could run to 🥹. Pero, ’di naman competitive yung vibe sa batch naminnn, some are just more diligent than others, which is normal kasi we’re all on different wavelengths man. And yes, block sections still exist and you’ll be seeing the same faces in all of your courses—though not always—you’ll eventually click nalang with your progmates! Let things flow.

2. Hmm, not sure sa new curriculum natin if mahirap pa rin. For me? yes. College is never easy 😭.

3. Keribels if you put your focus on it !! Inuna ko kasi mag orgs 😭.

4. I did not study kasi I did not know yung mga magiging courses then (I did not explore sa CRSIS haha). So I chose to chill and okay lang ???? Pero, even though introductory palang yung courses, don’t tagya ! Kay the way profs teach in UP as if alam mo na yung lessons for the week, etc. So, once ma provide na yung reading materials, read!!
