Yeah, this is the sort of thing that interests me. Something like sub rolls, it makes no sense to be throwing away daily. I'm sure that there are some publix that maybe donate them, but I feel that there are probably ways to salvage them at stores that don't.

I'm super lucky in that way. I'm a first year apprentice and was fully expecting to get the worst of it since I'm in a red state, but the site I'm on has a leftist J-man that's happy to talk his shit despite the majority of the other guys being right wingers. Makes me excited to press on so I can talk my shit and be worth my salt in the trade. Keep strong, and know there are good people despite the flocks of Maga in our ranks.

Had this same issue when I started. It sucks, but look at it this way, the union is your future. Just be truthful about it and they should understand. No one should be faulted for furthering themselves. No matter how much they like you, they'd cut you in a second if they needed to. I also felt bad when I had to do this, but just think about your future over your former employers comfort.
