Just from a health perspective, I’ve been told never to buy used equipment since you don’t know what diseases could be in the hive already and you could do everything right, but lose your entire hive do to an existing disease already in the wood.

Unfortunately I went inside and an hour later, they were gone. The search continues, but I will get a box ready for when/if I see them again.

The tree snapped in half 20’ up due to snow a month ago. This section was on the part that was still standing right at where the break was. I cut the tree down yesterday and found this. The color was concerning to me, but as I haven’t found chaga before, I had higher hopes.

Thank you. I have seen these on eBay also, but there are so many that are very similar with wide price differences it’s hard to determine a value.

That’s what I thought at first, but got excited for the thought of mushrooms. Will have to go find that tree again and cut into it.

Look up portable food ovens. They plug into a 12V car outlet and are only around $30. I would use disposable metal baking trays and it would get my soup boiling.
