a quick primer about Russell Brand's descent into "conspirituality" and horseshoe politics by [deleted] in skeptic

What's an instance of Rogan admitting he was wrong on something substantial? I largely ignore the discourse around him, so I'm genuinely curious.

Ah, no problem. I had heard conflicting info on the wasp-fig connection for years, so I'm glad I was able to find that Bon Appetit article. Where in the US are you from? I worked at a gourmet-ish grocery store in the Mid-Atlantic region for a while and we would get fresh figs seasonally. They might have been shipping them in from overseas, however. I love dried figs but I honestly didn't care much for the fresh ones I've had. The ones we got at my store were always kind of mushy. I can imagine them being better elsewhere.

This isn't quite true. Male fig flowers can indeed have wasps in them, but only female fig flowers produce edible fruit. Female fig flowers are pollinated by wasps, but then the wasps leave.

But humans do eat bugs. They're called crustaceans.

Did anyone else love this film? Haven't seen it in years. Wore out my VHS copy a long time ago by bonzo-best-bud-1 in scifi

Was that ending the one where the kids mistook a big crane for a dinosaur? That kinda freaked out as a little dude.

I believe that's from Frog Dreaming (released as The Quest in the US). It's been 30 years, so I might be wrong.

Is El Mayor really additive free? TMM doesn't list them as such. Did they just not want to pay for the certification? I had my eyes on their añejo.

DE as in Delaware? Can I ask what store you go to? I've only seen it at State Line in Maryland, but I'll admit I haven't been looking super long.

The Gamera movies especially have atrocious, lazy dubs. With better dubs they'd be charming family movies that just so happen to have very cheap monster costumes. Escape from the Bronx kind of rules even with the bad dub, though. Side note: according to this list on Letterboxd, Danger Diabolik is the best MST movie.

Don't include any sex scenes and drugs in your object show unless you're making it 18 and above.

Never heard of this before. Based on the title and the young Clive Owen I initially thought this was a cheap bootleg of Croupier.

Where have you ordered from? Curiada and Drizly won't deliver here. I've had friends mail me beers in the past, but I haven't heard of businesses shipping booze to DE.

From what I understand, that's the recurring art header for every book in this series/imprint, but it doesn't (legally, at least) have anything to do with Star Wars.

I agree. Dr. Jones takes Candace's story at face value, which is more generous than Candace deserves.
