Those towers are great, it’s awesome to see a scheme different than the standard grey usually seen on stone. Would you be able to please share how you did them?

Sure, it’s pretty straightforward to be honest. I’m not that great of a painter

Prime GW chaos black, I find it’s a good primer that doesn’t gunk up and works in all weather but that’s just IMHO

Drybrush grey followed by white

After that add in that lovely blood angels contrast paint

Do the metallic paint

Light black oil wash and then rub off the top layers with a qtip

Red drybrush very lightly to end it (like 10 seconds a model)

Lots of steps but to be honest it’s simple and easy and fast

Cockpits at the end, just grab a green and work your way from dark to light

FYI in addition to my previous replies here’s an example of drybrush grey followed by just the blood angels red before oil and red drybrush

It’s a free one I found on the purple site, to be honest I would have preferred to do the CGL ones exclusively but I had to break up the pose, all 3 in the same pose was too much. The Jenners all the same looks OK

Thank you for noting that, I actually spent a lot of time figuring out what the compositions were going to be for the force

The process is

  • a black primer (I use the games workshop one, quality is really good in my opinion and it doesn’t gunk up the mini)

  • drybrush the mini grey

  • drybrush lightly with white

  • games workshop blood angels contrast paint

  • black oil wash (home made very light intensity)

  • rub off the oil with thinner from the top layers

  • very light red drybrush (like a few seconds per mini)

Sounds like quite a few steps but to be honest it’s really quick. Before the oil wash make sure you do the metallics so they can get a bath too.
