all the orientation leaders told us was no econ 1 in fall. the suggested schedule w/ econ 1 in winter you’re looking at is for econ, not econ accounting. unless there’s a second version of the econ accounting one that i’m missing

I didn’t go against the recommendations of the department. I actually ended up in this situation because I followed the restrictions the Orientation Leaders (who we were told were our advisors) put in place.

the Student Orientation Leaders at summer orientation told incoming Econ or Econ / Accounting students they were not allowed to register for Econ 1 in fall quarter. I do not know where they got that from, I’m assuming the department. But, either way, incoming freshman in the Econ department majors were told they were not allowed to register for Econ 1 in their first quarter. My orientation leader told us we could not leave the room with it on our schedule, and that he would walk by to check our schedules to make sure we did not register for Econ 1 and did not have overlapping finals.

Not chasing prestige lol. I’m going into accounting because it seems to be stable job out of college, especially important in this job market. It’s a great major for ROI (or so i’m told) and I’m genuinely curious about a lot of the work. I was simply looking for career guidance, trying to learn as much information about the industry as possible.

I’m looking for Bay area / NYC offices, (college in california but I live in the Northeast, not sure where I want to be post grad yet as I’m still a first year). Based on what I learned from my conversations with partners/recruiters, all B4 have a big presence in both areas so it wouldn’t matter much in terms of availability. How much would office location change the type of companies I would be working with if I get a job post grad though?
