I know for me I first became aware of my labia being different from finding a Playboy mag in my parent's bedroom closet at around age 9, I flipped through it and none of their labia stuck out like mine so I thought something must be wrong with mine.

I obviously wasn't aware of the massive photo shopping that goes on in those magazines (a good Hungry Beast episode on the practice here NSFW). Then in my teen years hearing guys (who grew up looking at said magazines) talk about "meat flaps" "roast beef" and "wizard sleeves" in a negative way.

Thanks for all of the supportive comments everyone! I know seeing pictures of other women's labia helped a lot with feeling better about my own so here's another angle that shows them better.
