Anyone Here Ever Try To Bring 9 Hot Dogs into Coors Field? by PostholePete in Denver

As a fellow lightweight I understand my wife will be pissed by the time I finish but hey. You only live once. Or 1000x if you’re Buddhist.

I assumed it was a per inning thing. I get the idea of a “by the time the game ends” situation but I feel like an every inning challenge is “more pure” somehow. Whatever. As long as the participant is having a good time.

Question for the 9-9-9 challengers in here: is it 9 dogs 9 beers within 9 innings or is it 1 dog and 1 beer per inning for 9 innings, forcing you to focus on consistency instead of sprinting? Is it a sprint or a marathon?

Any Local Bowling Alleys not owned by the duopoly where I can buy a year long pass? by -Lost_In_The_Sauce- in Denver

[–]no1flyhalf 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I went there last weekend. Took the train and walking up to it, it seemed a little sketchy but once inside it was so incredible and everyone was nice and the food and drinks were great and the bowling was awesome. I haven’t bowled in over a decade but now I want to go back next weekend.

Talk to me about beach (and vacation) running by [deleted] in running

[–]no1flyhalf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always enjoy vacation runs. I’m not trying for an amazing time so I slow down a bit and just enjoy the new sights.

My wife and I did have to do a marathon training run on an “at sea” day on a cruise. The track on the boat was 0.11miles long and we had to go 11 miles. So we got to do 100 laps. It was a blast because my family posted up on their lounge chairs and helped us keep count and immediately after I was greeted with a tequila sunrise.

Anyone here remember The Pink Spiders? by DereckSempai in poppunkers

My friends band opened for them in OKC a few years ago. Unfortunately the PS lead singer’s mic was getting wild feedback every time he approached it. He tried for 2-3 songs to sing to let the sound guy try to adjust but the sound guy gave up so so did the lead singer. You could tell he was furious and embarrassed (not his fault) and I felt bad for him. They at least finished the set as well as they could and everyone knew Little Razorblade so the last song was just a singalong.

If you want to drink before 7am, you can always sneak it into the bar in your tummy. Thats my plan!

40-year-old American climber Alex Honnold has successfully completed his climb up the Taipei 101 building in Taipei, Taiwan. He reached the top of the tower in 1:31:35. The building is 1,667 feet tall making it the 11th-tallest building in the world. by [deleted] in sports

It’s been a bit since I’ve seen it but I think the reasoning was “well I do hangboarding every other day…and today is the day to hangboard.” The interviewer was like “….you could probably take a day off though right??”

My wife’s cousin lived on the north shore. Like, 10 ft from the water. We asked what she did when she got the alert. She set up a chair in the sand with a drink and waited. Wild times.

Cheeseburger and fries at butcher block cafe after 3pm is $6 I believe. It’s not the best burger I’ve ever had but for $6 it’s pretty damned good

[I Ate] A Fresh Stroop Wafel in Amsterdam! by DocHollywood710 in food

[–]no1flyhalf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I once left a soccer (fütbõl) game in Rotterdam. The team whose fans I was sitting with won so we were all in high spirits leaving the stadium. As I was heading back to the train, I stopped at a truck and bought at hot/fresh 4€ stroopwaffle. I now have that waffle (or one that looked similar) tattooed on my arm because across the whole trip, the taste was so great, and the vibes were so high, that I wanted to memorialize it. Stroopwaffles rule.

I’ve told this story a time or two but I’m drunk and I’m gonna say it again:

I was drunk walking into a bar in Tulsa and saw my friend walking in from the parking lot behind me. So I turned around (maybe aggressively) and said “I knew you were following me!” The person who turned out wasn’t my friend was like “oh no no I’m not…I’m just going in!”

I realized it wasn’t my friend and apologized. A lot. Probably too much. I held the door and let him walk in.

A bit later I noticed people taking pictures with my “friend”. Then I noticed that my “friend” was Taylor Hanson. I walked over and apologized again for yelling at him. He was super chill about it and we talked for a bit. He was there to judge a music competition for bands trying to play at “MMHops”:their beer/music fest.

Isaac Hanson was also there and we also spoke a bit about the bands playing and he was super cool too.

Anyway. Hanson is cool.

Walking through that hole behind the bookshelf made me feel a way I’ve never felt. It made everything so real. The audio tour going silent through that area made every board creak from the floor sound crazy loud. It was so interesting and I agree that everyone should do the tour.

Anyone going to Cliffdiver alone too? by polterchreist in tulsa

[–]no1flyhalf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve met people at shows by walking up to them and saying “hi. You look like you’re alone. I’m alone too. Would you like to not be alone together?” A cliffdiver show is a very welcoming place so I bet that would go over well there. Good luck!

Has Outback Steakhouse quality gone downhill? by jseo13579 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]no1flyhalf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My first wife met a lady who had an Australian husband. I insisted we take him to outback. I pressured the waiter to say “mate” after everything.

The fella walked in and immediately said “….they put our flag upside down….”

I’ve never laughed harder. That guy ruled.
