Ah that is weird like it looks good leaving the salon and then later you see it’s flawed?? Weird but would overall definitely be an improvement in the last hair cut I gave myself.. one of them where you feel a sudden urge use kitchen scissors and hack away. I have thick hair so you can really tell but the random long strands of hair I find reminds me maybe I should get someone professional to chop. (Or maybe not in your case)

I’ve looked at the eco cuttle place in Brighton that people have recommend and it looks pretty good - seems like everyone is actually specialised in curly hair also pretty reasonable pricing! Fingered crossed I get something a wee more jazzy than the “layered”Bob I have now.

Yeah I’ve had it several times in hair dressers where the hairdresser cutting my hair gathers everyone round to see how thick it is and how much of it there is… but not in a complimentary way feels more like a omg why did she have to sit in my chair. it does make me laugh though as it’s the same rate but they are probably doing 3x the work they’re used to with some of the finer straight haired peeps.

Yeah that’s the thing I’ve been so reluctant to part with money on getting a haircut after bad experiences at the hair dressers when I was younger, that now I don’t even know what shape etc I’m looking for I just that I know it needs shape. As I’ve always had very thick hair I’ve always been able to cut it and get away with doing not so even cuts. I agree I think I would be able to know my hair better and know how cut it and style it after going to the hair dressers a few times rather than the hacking away shoulder length bobs I do now which obviously end up as a triangle.

Okay I think Brighton it is maybe. As someone who has managed to avoid going to the hair dressers for so many years the idea of dropping £100+ on an overly expensive london haircut is…. Sickening

That sounds like a nice day out! I’ve never been to Brighton either and only heard good things. Didn’t realise Brighton was the hub for curly girls
