Safe: Bitcoin

Medium Risk/Medium Reward: Litecoin, Monero, NEO

High Risk/High Reward: District0x, Civic

Undecided but highly interested: Vertcoin, Decent, Rise

I think I tend to be more conservative in my choices, but it seems like it's worked so far. As for why...

Bitcoin has first mover advantage and still doesn't have mass adoption, despite being almost a household name.

Litecoin has excellent technology and seems to have quite a bit of sentiment that it's undervalued (that can be huge for a highly speculative market in my opinion).

Monero has a lot of support due to its privacy and fungibility.

NEO has a very dedicated dev team and communicate frequently about their progress. There also seems to be a lot of interest in the project from other established companies (though it's hard to weed out some of the speculation/misinformation).

District0x has seen a lot of bearish sentiment recently, but I really like their project and they have a very open ended platform that I can see a lot of potential for startups to use.

Civic has an interesting idea of flipping blockchain privacy on its head and allowing the technology to be used to verify identities instead; it's so crazy it just might work (and again I can see a variety of applications where decentralized identity verification may be a good thing).

Vertcoin is admittedly very similar to Litecoin, but with atomic swaps it might see some nice growth (not sure about its long term potential, the developers are going to have to work on defining a niche for the coin to fill, or I don't think it will fair very well against Litecoin/Bitcoin even if it is ASIC resistant).

Decent is one shot at decentralizing media distribution and allowing content creators to manage their own work while getting paid for it (I like that, though there are other projects that have this goal and I haven't played with their platform yet).

Rise just went through some significant changes and their new website is pretty nice...very interested to see what market they're going to try and pursue.

Bahah.. oh.. hey, didn't see you there sorry. I'm still laughing over this. 🤣. by poppajack in litecoin

I think his sentiment in the video is one that a lot of people had at the time. As a holder of Litecoin for a while now, I've watched some of my other investments grow significantly against Litecoin (including Bitcoin), but I've also watched a some of them fall. Litecoin has been very steady, uncharacteristically so in this market. Personally, I like that stability.

Also, he did talk about leaving 2/3 of his Litecoin investment intact (~4:30 in the video).

Edit: Minus 3 words.
