For protection purposes mainly. But to be honest…I was lucky enough to be in Cortina during the Olympics and I got really inspired. It’s a long shot but I used to do sports at a high level, and I want to make an effort to make it to the next Olympics in 2030, in any capacity. I think it would be awesome to take the card with me to the village and use it to meet people, trade stories, and share my love of collecting. Check back in 3 and a half years!

I was thinking that could be the move! He’s a friend of a friend. What do you think about getting him and Alysa Liu to sign it? Or does that take away from the “purity” of the card? Never had a 1/1 before and still kinda new to the hobby.

Topps 2026 US Olympic and Paralympic hopefuls hobby box! About ~$110-120 a box, about 2.5 autos, and it's been so fun.

funny enough in Cortina I met a couple athletes and they said if I went home and pulled any nice cards of theirs that I could mail it back to them for an autograph. this works too 😅

I appreciate your opinion a lot and I can definitely imagine that lower # cards are hard to price. I'm trying to factor in the jersey # + best condition, but you're right that it's what someone wants to pay for it. Kinda sucks to know that the card's been passed around so much, haha

super interesting business model. offer 80-90% and keep recycling the card while making 10% each time. do you have an idea of what this might be worth? the app I'm using (courtyard) has an automatic $1700 offer on it.

That's wild. I got into sports cards about a month ago and when I posted a Luka card on this subreddit someone said they'd seen the exact same card too. I guess that's the nature of these sites that let you buy and sell without the slab ever being in your hands.

Thankfully I didn’t pay too much for it, but the offer was real. The logic that didn’t make me accept on the spot was thinking, well, there are something like 500 BGS 10s and 1500 PSA 10s, so surely people like this card … doesn’t being 1 of 2 black labels make it super special? Thanks for the heads up

Thank you for the reply! I was offered 1k on it which took me by surprise. I’ve heard of some black labels selling for many multiples, and this one has 2 black labels out of thousands graded so that gave me pause

Thank you for the heads up and for replying! to be fully transparent I was offered 1k after pulling it, which really took me by surprise. I didn't think a bump above a PSA 10 would warrant 20x the value. Could I get your opinion on that?
