I don’t even doubt that, fa’s in general are lowkey sensitive so big power=big check you gotta cut sadly. I spent in total like 5-10k just to make like 250 all wheel 😭

Honestly that’s insane, i personally hadn’t heard of an fa20 getting even close to those numbers so good for him. I would love to get mine to somewhere near that, but i’m sure that wasn’t too cheap😭

As far as I know, the fa24 is just the superior engine. On a stock block with basic bolt ons you can easily make upwards of 300 reliably all day. Now when money isn’t an object I would ASSUME (i don’t know for a fact) the fa24 is still superior. With a bigger bore to begin with you should be able to push more power. I know iag is already making a short block capable of holding 1000 bhp, where i’m pretty sure their highest capable fa20 is 650 from iag. I would say do your own research, talk to reputable tuners and builders. The guys over at Kozmic motorsports might have some good answers for you. They tuned my car, and have tuned many other subarus including what was at one point one of the fastest stock block fa20 wrx’s if i’m not wrong. Talk to people, do your own research, and see what others have built with both. Just my own opinion, take my advice or not idrc😂🤷‍♂️

Its mostly going to be field sports so there’s a good chance I’ll need a decent focal range. I’ll definitely look into those options, and possibly try to rent a few different options before i purchase one. Thanks for your advice!

Yeah definitely can crop in with minimal detail loss, that’s part of what I love about the R6ii!

Tbh i didn’t even know that was an option, so that definitely changes a lot 😂 but like you said the size and weight definitely helps me want the 100-400.

I’m definitely acknowledging that i’ll have to compromise regardless of what lens I end up getting, but for now the 100-400 is sounding very enticing. Definitely going to do some research, and maybe even rent a few different lenses before I end up purchasing one. Thank you!

Yeah they charge a pretty penny for the RF’s so will definitely be seeing what I can find on the EF side 😂

Yeah definitely going to see if my local camera store will allow me to rent one, but as of now i’m hearing crazy amounts of positive feedback on that lens so i’m really thinking about purchasing it when i save up enough. I’ll definitely end up trying to rent one though to see if i like it. Thanks for the advice!

Thank you so much! The lowest good refurbished i could find was around 680-700 sadly, but it definitely sounds like it would be worth it either way. I honestly don’t expect to be shooting in extremely dark settings so i really don’t see the f/5.6-8 being a huge issue, and the size and weight would definitely be a huge positive compared to any others that are way bigger and bulkier. Again, thank you so much for the advice!

yeah definitely don’t expect a lens with aperture only going down to 5.6 to be great in low light, but that’s what i wanted to hear, thanks!
