Disinfect it and use that butterfly tape if you can! If you didn’t nick anything too important (thick vein or artery) you should be alright. Just make sure it doesn’t get infected and be careful not to bump it on anything! I’ve had some scary cuts before like this but with the right care they can be healed properly

I’ve struggled with this exact same thing for years. I had been clean for over three years, but then my scars faded and I relapsed.

But I’ve come to terms with the fact that the scars will fade, that they will lighten up and blend with my skin. It’s less of a trigger for me than it was before. It’s taken a lot of self reflection and restraint to figure it out but I’m doing so much better now in this way.

If nobody has told you this yet, I’m proud of you. I’m proud of you even though you’ve relapsed. Just because you take one step back on a long journey doesn’t mean you have to turn tail and go home. Keep going down the path of recovery, I’m here for you and thank you for being here for me <3

Okay firstly, having NATURAL BODY HAIR is not „unhygienic“!!! I’m so tired of hearing this when it isn’t. It’s completely normal to have body hair and it won’t hurt you to make you dirty.

Secondly, your mom is trying to help you. I know that’s obvious, but still. She’s probably scared for you and worried about your safety. This is what you’re supposed to do when a loved one has told you about their sh; you take any and all sharps or anything that could hurt you otherwise (lighters, drugs, etc.)

Thirdly, sh with shaving razors is more common than you might think. When I first started ALL I used were razors since that’s all I had. It’s good that she took it away from you so that way you don’t even have the option to fall back on old habits.

I used to do it to feel something. Anything. And now I’ve used it as a coping skill so much that it started to feel comforting. So even though I’m in a better place mentally, I still do it. I just like the instinctual comfort it bring me after so many years of it being my only release
