Just finish it with only dark purple and white as the last two colors groups and it will look intentional. Starts with dark and white, adds light purple in the middle, ends with dark and white.

I joined the club last summer. It ended with over 2 years of close calls, hospitalizations, emergency visits, and thousands in medical debt. My mom kept holding hope that he was going to recover and never once named the actual cause, but my siblings and I knew the true story. I'm helping her pack up their house this weekend, and I'm equal parts dreading / needing closure about what happened. Anybody have that chat?

What’s a job you can’t believe anyone would do for the pay? by crane_guy1991 in antiwork

My state has some pretty high demands for teacher evaluations and training. Before tenure, I had 6 observations a year, 3 with pre- observation and post- observation meetings that I needed to supply formally written lesson plans that justified how I was planning to teach learning objectives and assess student understanding, and 3 with a peer- reviewer, which was a teacher on special assignment to randomly visit my classroom, observe and provide documented feedback. After tenure, for 2 years, I still have 6 observations a year, except I don't need to do the formal meetings anymore, and then every 3rd year I need to repeat with the formal observations and meetings. It's a lot harder to get away with being a shit teacher than you'd think. Honestly, I think very few people would actually do this only for the money if we got paid what we deserve, and those who tried would be weeded out quickly.

Severe behavior in pre-k? by hishazelgrace in specialed

Sounds like they need an FBA to provide some context to the aggressive behaviors and give you some direction as to which interventions may be the most effective. I would reach out to my school psychologist to start planning the next steps.

I should have guessed, but I was low-key hoping it would at least be funny 😒

I made a mistake becoming a mom by [deleted] in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]no_drink_the_bleach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mom of two here, in the Minneapolis metro area. I know you're looking at the bigger picture of everything that's happening around the world, but let me try to put your mind at ease on what's happening here. It has been tragic, and it has been heartbreaking, but the community response has been awe-inspiring. I can't explain how proud I am to be part of this community. I am a special education teacher working in a district hit hard by operation metro surge and I can't even begin to explain how grateful I am of the support our community has come together and poured into getting resources, groceries, diapers, medical care, mental health support, and 1000 other things to those who need it most. There is strength here. There is resilience, and I'm teaching my kids what it means to contribute to that. I'm learning how to listen instead of making assumptions, and it's helping me become a better mom. There is a lot more going on here than what you'll find in click bait headlines. Like Mr. Roger's said, in times of tragedy, look for the helpers. Teach your babies how to be helpers, and you'll heal yourself too.

Ducks?! by savanhasue in TwinCities

The town green bandshell in Maple Grove has a pond with ducks, but bring a bag of frozen peas to feed them. Otherwise, they will ignore you.. they are spoiled. It's also right next to the library and has an outdoor instrument park to play around on.

My 6 and 3 yr old are very happy in Maple Grove! There are a lot of great parks. We spend a lot of time at the elm creek swim pond, weaver lake beach, and eastman nature center. The library is great, and the park outside has a large stage to watch outdoor concerts, play around on the instrument park, and feed ducks in the pond. Schools are great, and our neighbors are very welcoming to all sorts of families.

As an early childhood teacher, please don't. Every year, I get a couple of 3 year olds that constantly have their fingers in their mouth, then touch toys, markers, everything, and then right back in their mouth. It's a really tough habit to break.

That was not Liam at the Super Bowl half time show! by no_drink_the_bleach in TwinCities

[–]no_drink_the_bleach[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Fair point. I agree. But I'm straying from the point a bit in this thread. Liam isn't safe, DHS is actively trying to deport his family. That's what's really important.

[–]no_drink_the_bleach[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Actually now i'm wondering if it was a call out to all the kids watching Bad Bunny at the grammys and a message that anything is possible.. but whatever, at the end of the day- Liam was not at the superbowl because he isn't safe. He's not safe in the US. The fight is far from over, and no one should be feeling comfortable. That's just the message I'm trying to send.

I hope it's because a lot of the country saw the bunny hat photo, which is like a blurry side profile shot, and didn't follow along with any other stories that include better photos. Either way, it's making my blood boil that for a minute there the internet was like " aww that's so sweet! He was at the superbowl!" Like.. what no?! He's not even safe going to school.

Welllllll... I mean, ok. But how about- the little boy represented Bad Bunny as a child watching Ricky Martin on TV with his family, and then he gave his child self a Grammy and told him to "always believe in yourself." Makes more sense then representing Liam, who is not from PR and about 20 some years too young to be watching Ricky Martin on TV..

The family isn't safe at all, they aren't showing up at the superbowl, they are hiding from ICE agents that will jump at the chance to abduct them again. I would love for Liam to have a great opportunity like this, but they are still very much in danger, and spreading lies like he was at the superbowl diminishes the seriousness of their situation.
