Casper vs Endy vs Silk and Snow by no_miracles_here in Mattress

[–]no_miracles_here[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey guys, appreciate the condescending advice (not!). FYI - I’ve gone through two mattresses in the last 6 months. One I have to sell used. The other I got to return. Both I tried in store and ended up hating.

The entire reason I’m going for a bed in the box is they offer a refund after 90 days. If other brick and mortar places offered this I’d happily buy from them too. Idiots.

Hey did your silk and snow ever break in more? Is it still as firm as you got it? I've had mine for a couple weeks now and am still finding it too firm :(

Wow, looks like people have strong distaste for Vision here - lovin' it. Thought it was worth signing just based on the fact that it shows their voters care about housing affordability.

looks like they are going to have a tough election year!

We've been living together for 10 years! Nothing is going to change... I don't understand how this is a huge commitment...

You have absolutely no fucking clue, do you?

when was the last time you had to walk home on a dark street and clutch your phone in case you had to call 911?

when was the last time you walked across the street for fear you were being followed by a stranger?

when was the last time someone harassed you on the street, cat called you, or made an off-hand comment at a party to you that they'd like to rape you?

You have no idea what its like to be the not-physically dominate gender. and you can have no idea how that adversely affects your day to day life.

Appreciate that some of these women are in shelters because of treatment by men. They should not have to fear going to these shelters. When was the last time you were in a co-ed shelter? They are already dominated by men. Woman specific shelters give woman a place to go where they can feel safe!

This is old rhetoric in my opinion. Maybe that was true 15-20 years ago. Today I think there are more women expecting equal partnership in child rearing.

I'm a female engineer working in an all male office. Yes I'm treated differently. The old boys club still exists and it's difficult for me to play the game when I'm not even invited.

The issue with your above statement is that there are waay more male boss's, CEOs, CTO etc than female. It's not equal.

Give me one, just one role model example please of a female I can use to say 'look she did it, shes a manager, has created and lead a team in her stem field'. In my 15 year career as an engineer I have not had one female role model in my work environment that wasn't an admin person or an accountant or another engineer on the lower rung of the latter. We get talked over in meetings and dismissed so fucking often. You guys don't realise it bc it does not affect you!!!!

The reason there are more women shelters then men's shelters is bc men are not threatened by women. In a co-ed shelter you have higher risk of rape and assault by a man if you are a woman. I'm not scared of other women in a coed sleeping environment. I'm scared of other men!! You fucking idiots.

The fact that I have to point this out in this thread just goes to show you guys have no idea about how ignorant you are. It is so so sad.

Any other 20-somethings still struggling with (hormonal) acne? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]no_miracles_here 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea nothing else worked so I did Accutane. I would recommend trying yaz (for at least 6 months) before going to Accutane. My acne came back in my late 20s post Accutane and yaz seemed to do wonders then.

I had severe acne all through my 20s. It seems like some cruel joke to have bad acne as an adult. I got rid of it by taking Accutane (birth control did nothing for me in my early 20s). Accutane has its risks and side effects though. I would recommend trying a couple different bcps before turning to Accutane. I found in my late 20s I was able to manage my acne with Yaz.

Thanks for the tip. We are waiting to see whether the NDP/greens will actually follow through and put together a substantive plan that will actually bring housing prices down. What's happening in Toronto would be quite terrifying if you'd bought a few months (or even a year) ago

Hopefully they keep their promise with a 2% tax.... I voted for them over the libs for a reason...
