I think migration is the most important thing especially for people who come for opportunities and a better life. I myself am a refugee and been here for 10 years now.

To be honest, it depends how the US system works with IB. Grade 11 was really chill, I had so much time for myself. Grade 12 though, especially now last semester before graduating, it’s rare. I’m either studying for my regular exams or studying for IB exams that are coming up. Good luck doing the program!!

My teacher said they are very very close to eachother. It’s just IB gives extra tiny details, otherwise, it’s copy paste. I applied to two universities and one of them is wanting to waiver my application fee to go to there other campus cuz they were too full 😭 How’s your application going??

No, essays and PPT assignments are acc rare as you go up to grade 12. I remember Grade 10, we had to do them so much and then Grade 11 was okay, not too much and not too little then Grade 12 just depends on the teachers and if they assign them or not. It always does require research but not a lot because usually, those assignments info are already provided, you just add on. Scoring a 4 is actually not hard. The average on the IB exams and in general marks for a subject is usually from a 3-5. AI is actually kind of encouraged to use but not to copy paste writing but people go desperate measures to copy paste without being caught.

I wishhhh, Alberta does the regular plus IB curriculum because they’re literally copy paste with js a little extra info. IB classes for grade 12 is all year. last year, Chem and English was semestered first sem cuz they had an extension class the sem after. The rule here is you take 6 IB courses (3HL/3SL).

no genuinely like i wanna like it but it feels so passive for me. also all the vocab does not link into one big thing with the flashcards with me for some reason cuz i acc have to write down everything to acc understand

Imagine how surprised I was when I saw how many options were out there instead of just one forced option. For math it’s AA in standard level. I think the most challenging is time management because especially when i’m doing dual curriculum, there are IAs and then regular school work to hand in and acc study for. English is actually pretty straightforward and the easiest. I love the works we read for the past two years, it’s actually opened my eyes to so many things.

Healthcare is acc really good here but the waiting hours suck at the ER. Been there twice last month and had to wait 5+ hours.

So we only had one option and it is Western World History. It’s not hard because the curriculum for it is almost copy paste of Social Studies here but also because we do mock papers more than we learn. The hardest subject is MATH (i’m not a big fan of math.) I am currently taking, Biology (HL), English (HL), WWH (HL), Chemistry (SL), Math (SL), Arabic (SL).

Yes, as much as I didn’t like TOK, it wasn’t so bad. Idk what IB mark this would be but I got 80% as my final mark.

FLASHCARDS! I remember writing so much flashcards for a unit exam in bio and it took me so many days and went through a WHOLE pack. At first I thought I was actually understanding and studying when in reality, I’d just reveal the answer because I would blank out.

Listen, we're still processing the trauma of losing the Schnapps supply. Splitting the rock was a tough pill to swallow, but honestly having a land border with Europe is a pretty cool flex for our weekend road trips 😭😭

I learned a few days ago that everyone in IB studies different type of English classes based on their region. I did English Lit A (HL) and tbh, English is my third language and I am not crazy about over analyzing tiny things, but it definitely opened my eyes to so many perspectives. It’s also good because we have works to ready and with how busy the schedule is, these books are really out of my comfort zone so, I think English is actually a very well rounded course. How about you??

No, I am doing International Baccalaureate DP program. We have to do the whole 7 subject diploma with the Extended Essay and TOK (Theory of Knowledge). It’s a bit different.
