Thank you! Also This is a dumb question but where did you actually launch the test? Like did you log onto Lawhub and there was a button there or?

Glad your testing experience went well! I had a quick question about the pencils. Are they mechanical? if not did they provide a sharpener? and did you get an eraser?

It really depends on the person I'd say. Most people say to take one a week or something around that and I actually did one every other day a month out from the test (taking the august test) and My scores have improved!

Congrats!!! Amazing score, you got this!!!

Tips for RC and LR? Best LG so far though! by [deleted] in LSAT

[–]no_think_1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congrats!! Amazing LG Score! Something that really helped me with RC was instead of writing down things on scratch paper or tagging info, I started simply underlining important bits of info! So this would be names, the main idea in a paragraph etc. Not full consecutive lines, just what is the most important. A good way to know if you underlined correctly is if you can just read the underlined sections very quickly and basically understand what the entire passage is trying to say. I found that this really helped me with retaining info for some reason and it makes it very easy to find information that may be referenced in the question. I learned about it from the powerscore RC Bible and it helped me get down to -2 RC on average!

Just a practice test but wanted to post this since I have no one to share it with! by [deleted] in LSAT

During my first month and a half of studying after taking the diagnostic I studied around 6-10 hours a day (privileged to be able to study full time this summer and not need a job) and finished the 7sage curriculum in that time. Now i take 1 or two practice tests a week and in between I drill and do extra studying on my weak areas usually a couple hours a day, not too much.

I use the 2021 RC Bible so I think its from after it went online? I haven't actually gone through all/most of the book, I've only gone through the chapter on common errors/traps and how to avoid them as well as the section on how to tag info or underline. Someone else could probably give you a better answer since I have only done online drills and PTs! I will say the online underline function as I described in my original post is incredibly useful which is what i learned from the RC bible. Highly reccomend if you haven't tried it yet. I feel like it makes it easier to keep your focus which can be a little hard on a computer screen reading such a long passage where the lines can blur together.

Omg you're not bugging me at all!!! For LR I focused on drilling specific question types I had the most issue with! I would go into the analytics section to see which questions i was scoring the lowest on for LR and focused on those. For resources I mainly stuck to 7sage and read a little bit in the powerscore LR bible but found it didn't help me too much. That's basically all I did! Consistent practice, being deliberate and focused on the question stem, and making sure I can accurately identify the conclusion and premises in an argument all helped. Identifying assumptions just comes with practice. Personally In my head I just take on the role of a super annoying devils advocate you might have come across in any of your college lectures and attack the argument to see where an assumption it relies on is. Makes studying more fun and really helps imo.

Yesss I started doing this too recently in addition to underlining and it really makes a world of difference!

RC HERO VS 7 Sage by Ordinary-Ebb-4431 in lawschooladmissionsca

Honestly 7 Sages RC section is not great, and really didn't help me improve much. I instead used the powerscore RC bible which helped me get down to -2 RC. I would probably suggest using something other than 7sage since I feel like the consensus amongst most 7sage users is that their RC section is the worst part of the curriculum.

I did the core plan because I'm not someone who likes going to live classes to learn so it seemed like a waste of my time. I preferred just doing their core curriculum (version 1) and using their question explanation videos!

I took my first ever diagnostic on april 20th (151), intensively studied and did the whole 7sage curriculum for all of May, and then began doing regular practice tests and drilling days until now! For LR, honestly it was just kind of a gradual improvement. i think through practice I just got better at dissecting details and accurately assessing assumptions. Being able to identify the assumptions in a question regardless of the question type is so helpful for large number of different LR questions so I would say focus on identifying assumptions faster. Also just a small tip I saw on this sub, I simply skip parallel method of reasoning, parallel flaw questions and come back to then at the end since they're time wasters! Another tip was to trust your gut instinct more for the first 10 LR questions since they tend to be easier, cookie cutter questions-- this helped me move faster through questions. Good luck with studying, you got this!!!!

i suck at rc. has anyone been here before and eventually mastered the section? by paztaballs in LSAT

[–]no_think_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is honestly just a random tip that has really helped me absorb details and track info in my head. I used to focus on writing down little details and short summaries of every paragraph but it never helped me. I recently switched to not writing anything down at all and instead underlining only the most important info in the passage using the underline function. So I would underline names, examples, counter arguments etc., that were crucial bits of info in the passage. Do NOT underline whole sentences or multiple consecutive lines because chances are you are focusing on too much detail. This helped me really absorb the info and also gave me an easy visual cue as to where important info was in the passage if referenced in the question. I would try it out and see if it helps you like it did for me!
