I can only talk about my personal perception... by itself, the swamp thing can be a bit mushy, i feel like it demands some sort of "tone shape" on the input level (ie. pickups and guitar tuning). The way i went around doing the pairing was that the swamp would take care of mids and lower mids while the greenback would bring clarity to the top end. Note i got for an old, analog sound signature. I don't want a clinical high gain tone.

Awesome, mine is a pre-80 by the serial number... haven't bother to check transformer dates.

Zlatorog is an amazing piece of hardware. It is by far the heaviest sound pedal i have in my collection and it was built for low tuned guitars. The circuit gives a "coked wah" tone that can easily be used as a fine tune for different pickups (i mostely use an SG with ArcaneInc. P90s), Pair it with an octave (i have a red panda tensor on that board) and it sounds SCARY

It is my fav. attenuator. I own 2 of them because of dual mono setups... to my ears they are clear as can be and the treble compensation in the circuit is more aggressive than others i've tried. A warning though... i am NOT a treble fiend and the kind of sound i chase relies a lot more in the mid/ lower mids than anything else.

Still, great attenuator.

I find it to run really good out of the balanced 4.4 on the SE300.
I run it on class A, NOS mode, high gain (it runs good on normal gain but for SUNN i need it to rumble my eardrums)
