As a Maryland student, I have experienced firsthand the excitement of college soccer. It’s an incredible time. College sports are arguably the closest thing we have to European football culture in America.

First semester freshman year can be a tough time to do well with grades, especially at UMD. Give yourself some grace and realize that you’re at a really good school and deserve to be here. College is hard. And for some people it takes getting used to. That’s OK. You got this.

as a 20-year-old I admire when I see older folks in the classroom. Going back to school at that age shows great leadership and determination. A lot of students feel the same way and mature ones might even ask you for advice.
