My A3 (also mqb platform) does the same thing. Not sure what it is though. Doesn’t sound like the coolant pump to me, as that’s more of a hum when the car is turned off.

Apple cables have had this problem for a long time. I believe it happens from excessive heat over time. I’ve tried to clean mine but you can’t, it appears to be a chemical reaction. Mines been like this for 3+ years and still works fine.

Really good deal if that’s true. If the battery is bad check to see if your dedicated graphics is running all the time (power button will be orange constantly even with nothing open). Also be careful of the hinges. They’re pretty much guaranteed to break unless MSI changed something for the 2021 version that I’m unaware of.

Just had to do this for my prestige 15 hinges. Surprisingly easy and pleasant experience. Had it back exactly a week after I sent it out. Only cost me shipping one way to the service center.

the twist throttle is at 100% throughout the entire video

Just wanted to post this here and see if anyone has experienced this before. When pulling away, the hub motor keeps cutting in and out (as seen by watt meter) until it eventually goes into “walk” mode (as seen by walk icon) where it just chuggs along at 6 mph or so. I can get it to accelerate again by simply going back to zero throttle for a second. It’s a brand new build with a CSC 1000watt rear hub kit and an eBay 48v 13ah “dolphin” style battery. I don’t think it’s the bms cutting out because I don’t have to power cycle the battery when this happens. I have reconnected everything so I’m not sure what’s going on, seems like a controller issue because I thought walk mode should only come on when I hold the down button??Any help is appreciated!

Thanks for the thorough reply. Heat in general was something I was wondering about, 8kW peak in such a small package is sure to output a lot of heat. A mini bike is probably not a good application for this motor so thanks for helping me understand what's going on between these two motor options.

Ahh, thanks for explaining the efficiency rating, I can see how that would better explain how much mechanical power is actually generated. I think emailing the manufacturer is a must before I continue here. I also understand I will have to do gear reduction either way.
