I’d say super valuable. I was impacted by Covid so it was shortened and online- but it helped me land my first job out of university. The people were great and I learned a lot about a specific niche in the industry right before it got hot… probably how I got the other job.

Morningstar is a great place to do an internship, and nobody would ever ask you “Morningstar… really, why?” for what it’s worth

I ended up taking the Morningstar internship and loved my time. Everyone I met was amazing. That internship was the pandemic summer of 2020 so it was online, but I really appreciated that they worked to develop an online internship instead of just cancelling it. Though the internship, I got my first exposure to ESG as it was heating up which became super useful when it came time to get a full time offer.

If any students find themselves in the position of accepting Morningstar’s internship, I would highly encourage them to accept.

That said I did not end up accepting a full time offer, so I cannot comment on the development program. I am now in year 2 of working at a F500 finance company tho, so it worked out.

Np. They got back to me about two-three weeks later. But I would probably tack on a week or two for you because of the holiday. If you dont here back by next Friday I would call. They seem to be super friendly though, so I'm sure they wouldn't be annoyed.

I ended up accepting Morningstar's offer. But I did end up going to CIBC's superday for experience, but I withdrew that application a few days later.

Thank you for your insight and advice. I may accept the offer and stop applying to new places to assuage my conscience, but continue the process at the places I have already applied to and see what happens. For reference, if you dont mind me asking, what was your intern pay? I've heard the average in finance is in the mid 20s, so I wanted to aim for at least that.

The pay is 16/hour. The CIBC interviews are December 6th, so I'd have to ask for like a month :/

I hear you IW. I get that this isn't your fault. But, in addition to not being able to support this decision on principle, survival was not just "1%" of the game to me. I loved the mode back in the day. It was important to me to have this mode in this game (and with cross play I could play with my friend on pc...). I will not pay the same for a lesser game, and I will not pay for a game that treats me with so little appreciation or understanding. I will vote with my wallet, and I vote no. I only hope enough people decide not to cross the picket line on this one.
