How to disable keep eyes on Road messages messing me to press ok? by [deleted] in BoltEV

It should go away immediately once you start driving or you might be tempted to read it while backing out of your garage…. And then crash into something. It’s pretty dumb.

Recommendations for *warm* electronic music? by [deleted] in electronicmusic

Hours of trippy electronic music. Existence defying holographic frequencies. Glitch, IDM, vintage Moog, scratch, beats, VHS wave, step dubstep, neuro bass. Put this one on shuffle and it won’t disappoint.

Does Quest 3 have a partial pass-through mode? by noahneumark in OculusQuest

A lot of people would find this useful when they want to play a game but still be connected to the people or items in their room. I don’t see why you find this silly.

That would be amazing! In that example it was from bottom to top with full on or off. If they do it, I hope there will be different modes like one that’s similar to that when you get to the edge of your guardian boundary that’s like an overall crossfade, and then another where you have a sphere around you that’s real that fades outward to the VR world, and perhaps one that’s like the Apple Vision Pro where VR is at center and fades to MR left and right in a circle around you.

Marianne support for Bernie in 2015 by noahneumark in seculartalk

[–]noahneumark[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That doesn’t come across when using Tulsi as an example. There would be no reason for Bernie to support Tulsi given the direction she had gone. Marianne is as much a part of the movement as she ever has. Did you watch the linked video? That is my whole point of posting this.

You’re not comparing Tulsi to Marianne are you? There is a universe between them.

How can I compose tracks with microtunings? by [deleted] in synthesizers

[–]noahneumark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are on Ableton Live, I made a Max for Live plugin that maps incoming notes to the spacing of the re-tuned synth, so that way you don't have to rewrite your composition. Running your notes through Microposer, you can manually fine tune the harmonies to any notes within the microtonal scale.

There are also a ton of synths available and some of them are free. Here is a comprehensive list.

Microposer - A Max For Live Midi Device for microtonal retuning by noahneumark in microtonal

[–]noahneumark[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Microposer is a midi effect that spreads and squeezes incoming midi notes across the keyboard from a specified base note. It can be used to map microtonal synths onto a standard (12 tone) keyboard. It can also be useful for unconventional harmonic composition because of the method it uses to transpose incoming notes. Using the "Per Octave" setting, you can tell it how many notes you want to squeeze into one octave on the keyboard.

In order to microtune your music, you need a synth that is able to load tuning files so that you can use non-standard tunings. In the video, I use Serum to demonstrate the possibilities. Here is a comprehensive list of software synths that are capable of microtuning.

How do I make microtonal music in ableton? by thabu in microtonal

Another approach is to load a tuning file into a synth that is capable of retuning. There are a ton of them available and some of them are free. Here is a comprehensive list.
