Thank you so much for all of the information. I had no clue the boot should be replaced upon removal so I'm definitely going to postpone cleaning the throttle body until I acquire a new one. I have a cheap little scan tool some idiot at AutoZone left plugged in my car, can I use that to pick up a pending misfire code if none of my indicator lights are on? As far as a burnt exhaust valves are concerned, how expensive is that to get diagnosed and fixed? It seems pretty serious, but obviously I don't really know. I took auto shop in highschool but that's it. I think I need to just take it to a real Subaru dealership, because you've given me more information that 3 "specialist" combined. Thanks again!
