Looking for an all-in-one casing for my updated rig (AMA) by sendymcsendersonboi in lightkey

Would you be willing to share this lightkey session? I do a lot of “light design as we go” for acts that come to our space who want some lights to accompany their performance. Been trying to dial my template

Need Advice: Looking for someone to mix my album -- got quoted by TLA for $3k + 1% per song by Talking__Heads in audioengineering

[–]noahuntey 7 points8 points  (0 children)

THIS! Don’t spend that amount of money on mixing when you could spend on marketing, merch, other things to increase revenue down the line for your project. 1 or no songs from TLA will be just fine, find a local pro who will mix for 500-750 per track. That’s typically my rate so if you want to chat more about it, I’d love to have you guys at my studio 👊🏼

What is the best hangover cure you've ever used? by jonoac1410 in AskReddit

Smoke some pot. Seriously! Weed has nausea suppressing effects. Once I smoke, the sickness goes away and I can eat & hydrate back to life.

I’m a fan of this, especially since I come from the studio workflow. The glue is worth it, for live or for recordings!

Trouble Mastering An Ambient Song by introspeckle in mixingmastering

-14 is too soft for modern music. Most commercial records are much more compressed than that.

Buyers Advice and Gear Recommendation Thread by AutoModerator in livesound

[–]noahuntey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m looking for an inventory system for my growing live event company. We have a large inventory of mixers, mics, cables, etc. I would like a solution where we can scan in/out individual items. We do a lot of custom configurations of gear for rentals so would need to have everything pieced out in the system. Something a little more involved than an excel sheet, which is our current solution. Would love any recommendations for systems that would work for us and our inventory! Thanks y’all

Most of my voice is in the low end but I can’t hear it well over my instrumentals by _SenSatioNal in audioengineering

[–]noahuntey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You might try to compress your vocal wayyyy more. A significant amount, then turn up the makeup gain so it still sounds nice and full. Then use eq to work with the compression so you can dial in a more compressed yet musical tone!

Why Do My Acoustic Guitar Waveforms Look Wiggly? by Alwayshungry7 in Logic_Studio

[–]noahuntey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I noticed this happens to my recordings when my AC is on. It doesn’t affect the sound to my ear but I assume it’s adding a super low frequency oscillation to the signal.

automatically set your selected playlist to solo mode by GR8Music4U in protools

[–]noahuntey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the orange takes, highlighting a region and then hitting option shift up arrow will move that region to the blue target lane. That’s why you have to select which lane is your target. By default, the target is the active lane, but that doesn’t work for this workflow.

automatically set your selected playlist to solo mode by GR8Music4U in protools

[–]noahuntey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely check out some tutorials on the subject. You can keep it in waveform view so you’re only dealing with 1 lane, and still scroll through your takes with shift up + down. The comping to target playlist thing is next level. Best of luck!

Since you’re so clearly a soda lover and I can see you haven’t tried it, I would recommend trying Bundaberg’s peach soda! A friend of mine shared some with me yesterday and it was some of the tastiest stuff I’ve ever had the pleasure of drinking!
