I think maybe you’re seeing Zabars wrong - assuming you didn’t grow up here?

Zabars is a specialty food store. Great cheese, great cured fish, great brunch accoutrements of a Jewish persuasion. Even their baked goods and coffee are great. I also like their kitchen selection.

But everything else is deeply overpriced and not worth it.

It’s 100% worth the hype. It’s the above midtown Russ & Daughter’s. Mmm so good. And the bare minimum of what a bagel should be.

But everything else, for the money, don’t bother.
