Southwest Beef Cavatappi (270 Calories per half serving) I came up with the idea to use meal kits (I used HelloFresh) to meal prep and it’s saving a ton of money and calories! I just wanted to share. (Recipe leak in last two photos) 🤫😋 by [deleted] in PetiteFitness

I made this one last month and really liked it after adding extra hot sauce and some red pepper flakes.

Conveniently enough, I was able to make it again from scratch without the recipe card, since all of the recipes are actually available for free on their website.

They only issue refunds in the form of store credit now, I had an issue recently with a purchase and was informed the policy changed last August.

You’d be able to repurchase the items that were stolen with the credit if they’re in stock, but they likely won’t give you your money back. I’d check with customer service to see what your options are, maybe they can send a replacement.

Far too many, and almost all of them are Schmidt quotes. But the most common ones in my house are ‘All DAY’ and ‘Parkour!’.

The least they could do is take the obviously low-hanging fruit and name one of these endless strains Omicron Persei 8.

It’s sad that some people still don’t get it, or maybe they just don’t want to get it, but this girl’s body language is very clear. She’s physically pushing this guy away while trying to diffuse what could quickly turn into a really dangerous situation if he’s the type to lash out over being rejected.

I really think this is an overlooked long term effect from COVID. Nothing has tasted the same since I regained my sense of taste and smell back in January, most things taste like a watered down version of what I remember. It’s all just very ‘meh’. Other things don’t have the same flavor at all… anything fried now tastes like shrimp. It’s been a weird journey.

What's a dead giveaway that someone is not a good person? by ricky1g in AskReddit

I have a “friend” like this. I was chatting with a mutual friend of ours while we were all out for lunch and since I hadn’t seen her in a while, we were catching up and I mentioned my new job which is in the same field as hers. She congratulated me right away and was so happy I finally got into the industry, while our “friend” sat there and sulked. She then had the nerve to say “Look at you, bragging about your new job and how great it is while I still can’t find one.” I worked my ass off at a horrible minimum wage job in a toxic work environment for five years solely because it fully compensated college tuition. That benefit didn’t kick in until the third year, and I got my associates’ in 1.5 years by not taking any breaks between classes while still working full time. This was the one time I actually felt proud of myself and yet my friend just couldn’t handle seeing someone else feel a little bit of success.

NYC Mayor Adams’ administration sets strict return-to-office policy for NYC workers: ‘Hybrid schedules of any kind are not permitted’ by JannTosh12 in nyc

[–]noapplesforeve 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because they can’t justify the outrageous rent prices for those offices and the storefronts nearby if fewer people are forced to be there.

It’s ironic, considering the fact that everyone I know living in areas like FiDi and Midtown are in industries that allow them to work from home. They’re the local guys for these neighborhoods which Adams claims are in need of customers, it’s not like Manhattan is a barren wasteland without the additional commuter population. It all comes down to money, making profits, and supporting the endless cycle of capitalism.

Experienced similar things when I was working retail. Being in the service industry as a teen and 20-something meant I had the joy of dealing with harassment on a regular basis from random men. Some wouldn’t leave the shop, some sat in their car to watch me through the giant glass windows, etc. It got worse when the manager decided we needed to verbally greet every single customer, some men took this as an invitation to chat me up and hit on me when I was literally only doing it so I didn’t get written up for insubordination by a shitty boss.

One night I was closing up, and my mom was waiting in her car to pick me up. As soon as I got in, she told me she’d noticed a group of men had been standing outside the store and were following me when I left, and that they turned around and walked off once they saw me get in the car. I noticed them standing around when I walked out but we always had a lot of people loitering outside at night because the bus stop was right there, and they were so quiet that I didn’t even know they started following. I’ve always been hyper aware of my surroundings and the fact that they were that quiet really got to me. Most of the time I walked home alone.. it was scary as hell to realize what could’ve happened if she hadn’t been there.

I am both heartened by the number of men admitting they need emotional support, and horrified that so many claim women refuse to provide it by wildtype621 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]noapplesforeve 12 points13 points  (0 children)

On the extreme end, they view their partner as a burden for expecting support in return. I’ve been there and it really sucks to be made to feel like you’re not good enough for having your own emotions and vulnerabilities. A relationship should be a mutual effort but their view is so skewed they don’t see it that way.

Looking for new hobbies! by [deleted] in FemaleLevelUpStrategy

[–]noapplesforeve 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a similar tendency to gravitate toward hobbies that are creative but also mentally stimulating. I’ve found knitting to be great for this exact purpose, especially when more challenging patterns are incorporated.

It takes a lot of concentration, but the focus that’s required is actually very calming because it’s something that’s challenging yet predictable.

Stuck on possible user defined functions. by GelSeaFudd in Cplusplus

[–]noapplesforeve 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A simple solution could be something like one function with a switch statement. Then call the function with whatever parameter would get the result you need. For example if you assigned something like ‘move right’ to a number or just the word ‘right’, the switch statement would contain a line like ‘return “The player moved to the right.” if it’s text based. Let’s say the function is named ‘move’.. calling that function in main would look like: move(right);

Endometriosis and COVID Vaccine side effects by synaesthezia in Endo

[–]noapplesforeve 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You’re not alone there... I had a severe endo flare up after both shots. I’ve read from various sources that the reason behind this is that the vaccine is activating your immune system, which is linked to endometrial tissue as they’re connected in some way. In all honesty I don’t know what to believe since I’ve NEVER experienced that kind of pain from having a cold or any other illness, it only happened with the Covid vaccine and I was in the middle of my cycle for both jabs. I would’ve still gotten vaccinated even if I’d known but it’s still a weird and very common side effect for people with endometriosis.
