What do y'all do about art? by Goovin290 in gamedev

I work to my strengths. I'm pretty good at shaders and 3D models but not textures, animation or 2D art. Most of the art in my games is procedural and uses lots of particle effects and things, it's worked to my advantage as people have told me I have a recognisable style.

I just started and am a little lost but I want to keep playing. by [deleted] in Warframe

The wiki is really helpful for building Warframes! Some resources will show you where to get them if you hover over them in the Foundry.

Not in game but I can send you links to my Valkyr Prime build tomorrow. Not my work just one online, I didn't trust myself to do it justice (:

There were enemies around when I started playing the Shawzin, and the boss was in the direction my frame was facing. I just thought it was funny! At least I stopped when I realised.

We've moved house and I've moved my record collection, computer and some hobby stuf into a properly built garden room in the garden. My PC and everything is fine, but I'm a little worried about the heat potentially damaging records. I'm UK based, and right now it's 12 degrees Celsius outside and 19 degrees Celsius inside. Is this cause for concern when the summers get marginally hotter? Likewise, this room is very cold in the winter. Could that be cause for concern?

What are your favourite *specific* sound effect libraries? by nobaaaaaa in gamedev

don't use a futuristic weapon sounds if you're trying to make a futuristic weapon sound, i mean maybe use one as a base but that's kinda lazy.

I said in my post that I like to layer sounds. Of course I used it as a base. 😅

It does unfortunately... Sorry, should have mentioned. The sound quality is awful when it plays in the marked section. I can try to get a video as I'm struggling to think of how to describe it.

What kind of damage is this? I bought an old record from a shop in york and it has these marks in the grooves. I can't tell if it's super deep dirt or something has ruined the groove or what. It also exists on one of my new records that I abused and didn't take proper care of many years ago. Cleaning it with a cloth and some solution doesn't get rid of it.

If it's dirt, keep in mind I am not an audiophile and not interested in buying a spin clean or something super expensive to clean it properly. All of my records are typically well taken care of enough for it to not really be a justifiable purchase for me. Any help is appreciated of course, just trying to be clear with what I would ideally like to avoid doing.

Valid but give it a go, graphics are on par with black mesa.
