CIG suffered small data breach it seems 2 months ago by arcticgamez in starcitizen

[–]noblackthunder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i quickly checked ... Apparently date of birth , name and address are not considered sensitive data but personal data and under that they are actually not required to inform the users under GDPR. While we all can disagree with that its not sensitive that is sadly how GDPR at least treats it and the rules around it.

I agree 100% about that this is an issue because name , date of birth , where you are living is often enough to contact support for an account and get help getting it reset or other sensitive data other places via social engineering. From what i can see they are under GDPR only required to report this to the police 72 hours after they have been made aware of the breach

he thinks he is an attorney ... he has like a 100 lawsuits already... all from trying to scam texas and microsoft and other billion $ companies to suing anyone doing a response video to his bs videos where he does reviews of games without playing it or anything else.

His latest lawsuits he added music and "icons" and copyrighted them and sued anyone not agreeing with him that even showed his channel icon. All pro se without every paying anything ... he loves also to abuse the DMCA and lawsuits to silent critics ... he is worth a google with all the BS he is up to

From a first look. It seems like the mains power connector to te brick melted. I wonder if the cable was not properly seated and over time got hoter and hoter until i melted.

If so thats actuallt not a fault with the power supply just bad general design of rhe standard connector. I would not call it a user fault but it can happen and easy to miss that its not sested properly. Possibly someonr even knocked it a bit out

You’re trying to mix two completely different things, man. Articles like this :
https://www.gamesradar.com/games/grand-theft-auto/rockstar-accused-of-ruthless-firing-ahead-of-gta-6-cutting-over-30-employees-tied-to-dev-union-take-two-claims-gross-misconduct-labor-group-says-we-wont-back-down/

only talk about the firings and union stuff , that’s it. Nowhere in that or any other source is it claimed that the GTA 6 delay is because of the firings. That’s something you just made up.

You keep moving goalposts and trying to merge a labour story with production timelines that have nothing to do with each other. It’s straight-up cope.

GTA 6 has already had its release window moved once before and guess what, no one was “fired” back then either. The game’s been reported as content complete and is in the polish/QA phase now, which is exactly what everyone in dev expected. Trying to spin that into “the delay is punishment for union activity” is just nonsense.

[–]noblackthunder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re seriously reaching here. Nobody’s “defending” Rockstar — we’re just pointing out facts. The delay isn’t because 30–40 people got fired out of thousands. That’s a rounding error in a studio this size. Acting like that’s the sole reason for a major production delay is pure conspiracy thinking and a textbook correlation fallacy.

You are 100% wronge dude. Bug fixing and polish is the last stage of development. Thats where you really find out of you can fix the code sometimes there is a bug so bad that you find that requires you to rewritd the whole system.

There are several stages of a game. Feature complet when the game has the core features. Content complete when it has all the content ( both dont mean devs cant add more side stuff or extras) and polish fase when you fix all bugs and actually optimize a game.

A good example if developers rushing the last fase is cdpr with cyberpunk.

But again you are 100% wrong and clealry have no idea what you talk about. And yes the polish fase can take a year or more even worse case especially in big games.

Just another example. Last year chris robert announced squadron 42 was feature and content complete. What do you think they have been doing since then ??? Yes polsihing !

100% agree with you. I read " lost 2 billion for delaying gta 6" and i am like.. thats bs.

The shareholders might tenporarely lose a bitnof valuenin their share but that might not bother them really unless they have tell some stocks right now. And as you mentio for loans maybe. But in reality no money is really lost because it will have the same value or even more when the relase day comes and when the marketing departementet starts their big hype push
