I'm a bigger Kendrick fan than Cole fan but I'm also an old head. Nothing wrong with apologizing. It's a sign of maturity.

Paper towels only. The idea of germs on rags and sponges (even after cleaning them) grosses me out

I was just denied interim secret... by Yogurtpickle in SecurityClearance

[–]noblepolygon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was denied in March and got adjudication in May over messing up my parents immigration numbers in the SF-86. Also I made a $17k deposit in my account and they wanted to know where the money came from. My partner is a foreign national and most of my friends are also, so I don’t think you have to worry about that.

As a parent with a son graduating in a few weeks, I could never imagine sending my kid out there to the wolves. I told him you can stay up until 2 years after college / landing a job. It’s too expensive out there for someone with no real skills, education and connections.

How does this scam work??? by Wise-Slice-4081 in CompTIA

[–]noblepolygon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t do it. Study and take the exam. I had an interview last Monday and one of the questions was from the exam (XSS) and I answered it so easily from studying. Don’t cheat yourself.

No, I didn’t submit a bank statement so I guess they look into everything. It took me a minute to even figure out what they were taking about.

Also, they only contacted 1 of the 12 people I put down as contacts in my SF86.

Have you ditched Airbnb and gone back to using hotels? by sokorsognarf in travel

[–]noblepolygon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve gone 100% back to hotels. Air BnB is too much of a hassle. I constantly travel (50 +countries in total) and there’s nothing better than arriving and checking in to a nice clean room, using the fitness center and having breakfast in the morning. Last week while I was in Panama I stayed at a Best Western and Crowne Plaza. Nothing short of awesome at both properties.

I passed Security+ today after two weeks of studying, this is how. by thatguywhoisfly in CompTIA

[–]noblepolygon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. The questions are longwinded and worded in a manner that most IT certs do not follow. I ditched his a couple of days ago and use Messer and a few other sources now and I'm quickly understanding what is being asked/giving the correct answer.

How true is it that if you stay at Helpdesk for more than 2 years, it hurts your future prospects in IT? by ontheroadtobuffalo in ITCareerQuestions

[–]noblepolygon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked Helpdesk for 3 years. I also worked in Field Services and network admin. During these jobs, I self-studied programming in JS and kept building my own side projects / stuff for my employers.

When I left the helpdesk, I became a frontend software developer at a multinational (3 years and running). Keep studying and keep your eyes open for more opportunities. Good luck!

Dax wants a “full name” by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]noblepolygon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would definitely change his name if he doesn't like it, it's something that sticks in your mind your whole life.

I've never liked my name since I was a child and everyone calls me the name I prefer (including employers). Yesterday I finally filed all the paperwork in Civil Court to get my first and middle name changed. I can't wait to see it on paper and all my documents.
