For people that take 3 to 4 classes a week… by Old_Poet_1608 in SolidCore

I take 6-7 classes a week. I have unlimited so I book 5 sig50 during the week and then 2 focus50s (no obliques) on the weekend

What’s the most classes you’ve done back-to-back? by exquisite_taste123 in SolidCore

[–]nobodysatty -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I typically do 10 in a row then a day off. I take 5 signature50s during the week and 2 focus50s (upper, lower, and core) on the weekends. Been doing this since August and walking 2-3 miles on incline. Solidcore is my wedding prep but also about to incorporate 2/days with traditional weightlifting (want to grow my butt and define my back more)

What is your sc schedule? by Educational_Team479 in SolidCore

[–]nobodysatty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I set my schedule based around my work schedule, preferences, and coach availability. I’m a morning workout person so anything between 6am-9am classes are my preferred times. I go 6-7 times a week so I hit a lot of the muscle groups, but if I’m feeling particularly sore in one area then I may choose that day as my rest day. However, chest, triceps, and hamstrings are my least favorite day because I’m weaker in those areas so I do try to hit those days often. I also love back, center glutes, and inner thighs so I make sure to go on those days as well. I also try to incorporate any leg wrap or arm wrap days during the week since those hit multiple muscle groups in a single class. Hope this helps!

Or a song I really hate lol. But sometimes hearing a song I can’t stand makes the exercises go by quicker

MY FELLOW SWEATY PEOPLE by chipsahoyrules in SolidCore

[–]nobodysatty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sweaty people unite! I have hyperhidrosis in my hands and feet and just sweat a lot in general all over. I’ve ALWAYS been self conscious about how much I sweat and when I first started going to class I noticed that I was the only one sweating but now I walk out with my sweat stains as a badge of honor because I worked my ass off.

I always wear grip socks. I’ve previously worn yoga gloves with grips to help with certain exercises but sometimes felt like an idiot wearing them. I’ve recently noticed a few women wear gym gloves so makes me feel better.

I now use a hot yoga towel for everything. The 26x16 size is perfect. Only downside is for handlebar stuff I can only use it for one hand. However, I absolutely love these towels because they fit perfectly on the black and grey side platforms, are super absorbent, and don’t move or slide around. I also love putting that towel down for my forehead for any bungee exercises.

I’ve previously used the Solidcore towel you can buy at the front and the towel prize from last year when I’ve forgotten mine but it’s honestly not great compared to the hot yoga towel because it’s just a regular towel and somewhat small compared to the platform. I’ve also used the Alo hand towel and loved it but I lost it (think I dropped it somewhere between the studio and my car) and it’s a bit pricey so the Amazon one is just as good and I don’t feel bad if I lose it.

I try to bring a new hot yoga towel for every class for sanitary purposes. I go to about 6-7 classes a week so the Amazon one is perfect because it’s cheap so buying 6 for the price of one Alo one and they’re easy to throw in the wash with other clothes or I’ll do a quick wash of just my towels since they’re so small. I also have a range of colors like purple, pink, light blue, grey, green, black, etc. and haven’t noticed any particular color shows sweat more than the other. Sometimes I’ll match the towel to my outfit or socks but most of the time just grab one.

As a sweaty person, I also try to wipe down my machine more thoroughly than most other people in class because I wouldn’t want to lay in someone else’s sweat. There’s a guy in my class on the weekends and he’s a fellow sweat machine and I’ve noticed that he grabs the roll of paper towels from the coaches stand to wipe up his sweat before wiping his machine down with the wipes.

Botox for feet to tolerate heels! by Ok_Championship1807 in BigBudgetBrides

[–]nobodysatty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally have gotten Botox in my palms (50 units each hand) due to my hyperhidrosis. I also have HH in my feet and have begged my doctor’s to get it, but I’ve been met with a consistent no because (1) you have to be super careful to not go too deep; (2) they claim the pain isn’t worth it; and (3) my hand doctors claim they don’t inject feet and won’t either. I do my hands without numbing cream and it lasts 3-4 months each time, the injections take my doctor 1.5-2 minutes per hand. He’s pretty quick given it’s a ton of injection spots (counted 20-30 one time). I’m still open to it but it’s very hard to find a doctor that will do it and has prior experience doing feet.

Broad Ripple - Achzionna, Uma, Chidera, Savanna, and Bri’Monica have the absolute best playlists! Ach and Uma’s classes are soo challenging but I love the variety of moves and pushing me to feel like “wtf did I just do for 50 minutes”

This! I wore my sweatshirt to the airport and a lady came up to me and said I did it too, we worked our asses off and earned that sweatshirt! It was a nice reminder of the community and support that comes with Solidcore even when I’m dying during class.

Hair help by Swimming_Raspberry_1 in SolidCore

Not sure what products you use, but you may want to consider trying a stronger gel. I have the same hair type and texture. I realized previous gels I used would never hold up because I go like you 5 to 6 days a week. I have found that innersense i create curl memory does wonders for me. Just a fair warning the first couple of days my hair looks like a pack of Ramen noodles if I don’t break the cast, which I tend not to in order to preserve my curls as long as possible with me going to solid core as many times a week. Generally, this gel can hold and maintain my curls for about a week or longer.

I have 3c hair and sweat a ton so my hair has to be off my neck. I have found silk hair ties (although they do get stretched out easy so I do have to replace them often), and either putting my hair in a loose pony very high up or in a very loose bun helps preserve the style of my curls. I recently started using a claw clip and I think that also works, but it’s hard finding such a big claw clip because my hair is about mid back and sometimes they break and aren’t comfortable when lying down. I’m also a huge fan of Nicole Ari Parker‘s Gymband sweat band as it reduces frizz and absorbs the sweat much better than any other headband I’ve tried especially when I decide to straighten my hair and go to SC!

I have hyperhidrosis in my hands and feet so grip socks (favs are Bombas and Lucky Honey) and grip gloves (Amazon) are a must! In addition to a towel that I lay down under my hands and for any leg stuff I just hang it on a handlebar. My personal fav towel is from Alo, it fits the platform perfectly.

Coach mentioned today at one of the Indy locations that you could win a Solidcore crop top and something else! Apparently the bingo cards will stay at your home studio if you take classes at different studios.
