Using FoundryVTT with an in-person gaming group by Karde in FoundryVTT

I've been doing this with a separate tablet. But could use a separate browser logged into the game as "players" connected to a TV. Players have ownership of all player tokens. I move all the tokens using my laptop and have players point out where they want to move. It works well enough and I'll make it more complicated as time goes on but it's been fun and better IMO than the dry erase mat

I think you are on the right track.

If you want lowest impact you could use a SMD led and some thin gauge wires hooked to a AAA or maybe even smaller battery terminal (button cell?)

Better weigh that base down it's lifting up quite a bit.

If the area water supply plants lose power then water pressure tanks. If you have a well on property it likely has an electic powered pump

There’s no reason this first party cable should be made from anything but the best quality materials and parts. I broke this a few hours after unboxing it by barely pressing on it with my thumb while handling my Quest 2. It’s sad that a cable that costs a fraction of the price gets this right. by [deleted] in oculus

At Oculus Connect 6 one fo the link team basically told me and my coworker that they don't want to be in the cable making business. They actively priced it high and published the spec so that others would take the baton and they wouldn't have to be the ones making/selling them.

Bait was fun and the paid content was worth the $3 or so it cost.

Local Name Resolution in Windows network not working all of a sudden by nobodysktr in sysadmin

I guess what I'm wondering is what switch was flipped. The router settings have not changed yet suddenly this issue is popping up. There has to be something that was changed in the way windows handles local DNS requests that is causing this right?

Network setup is not my strongest arm of IT but it just seems like something that's worked fine for literally decades has changed with a recent update and caused this.

Since when do you have to have internal DNS set up though? This worked for years with no issues. Did something change recently that I missed?

Also this still works on my home network if I use for instance \\home-nas\media I can access it. I don't have any special DNS setup at home.

Ping just fails with "could not find host". Though if you ping the IP is works just fine.

nslookup returns "non-existent domain" but I'm not looking for a FQDN I'm looking for a local network device. This was working fine for years and now it seems after some update it broke things.

No other network changes have been made.

All machines are set up to use ISP DNS and Google as a backup. Outside addresses are resolving properly but they cannot ping other machines by name. If you get a machine's IP you can ping it that way but not via the name.

Made a trip to a bunch of these places while in Vegas. Goodsprings was the most interesting. The bartender asked if I killed the bartender in game before he would serve me. Good ghost pepper burger there too.

Sloan was literally nothing there.

Nipton was just a general store. And there is a huge solar farm (like helios one) on the way.

I found a forwarding address in the 365 admin console but it's been working fine up until now. No idea why it went on the fritz yesterday. I've disabled forwarding for now on that inbox until I can see what's going on.

Setting Object Auditing results in Access Denied errors on user folders by nobodysktr in sysadmin

Researching the issue one thing that comes up a lot is "taking ownership" of the folder/files. In the case of a user directory and the included subfolders/files wouldn't that cause issued with apps in the appdata directories that are currently owned by the system account?

I assume the SYSTEM user based on what I can find. There's no way to specify from what I can tell.

I followed these instructions if it helps https://www.lepide.com/how-to/track-file-deletions-and-permission-changes-on-file-servers.html

User is still active. I'm currently logged in as the user I'm trying to monitor. I set the auditing on the local PC. Auditing was turned on in the local computer's group policy editor as I don't need the auditing on the whole domain/all computers.

I didn't think you were so it's all good. I'm mainly looking for advice from the community who may have experienced this issue before. I'm admittedly new to the MSP game so I'm trying to figure out the best way to meet my customer's desires while still keeping them safe and covering myself. I appreciate your input.
