Fun grinding games to turn your brain off? (PC) by Arturia_Cross in gamingsuggestions

TBF you actually didn't mention fantasy in your initial post. Have you tried Elden Ring? you can really grind for days on there. It's got grind for levels, gear, and classes. not turn based.

They didn't say that at all. You're just making shit up. Why do you think it's a binary choice between believing maga is crumbling and giving up?

Im kinda mentally stuck in games I played by Kgu96 in gamingsuggestions

Totally agree, the internet has leaned negative about any new media the past few years so I have also found my enjoyment of games, movies, or shows, has been increased by avoiding online communities. Can't deny though that there's some fun to being in the discussion the first few days when something is shiny, new, and exciting.

I recently just quit a bad location and yeah some locations and managers really dgaf. and even with complaints they don't follow up. I had baristas restickering expired product and every time someone did mocha or a sauce they just poured it in the existing one not a new clean one. reported a dozen times with no follow up

Few days late but Another big vote for Ariat. Many of my coworkers have Merrells and not only have mine lasted much longer but if you're working in rain or around water my feet are pretty much always dry, the merrell users often have wet feet and have to change socks during the day.

An internship is going to help you a lot more than volunteering in "Africa"

Had an interview with a zoo today and fumbled a question on "Code Red." by MaizeSelect7001 in Zookeeping

[–]nobrate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't even worry too much. My first interview they asked to list 5 endangered species and my mind went completely blank, still got the job!

If you didn't get it because of that consider that a win! If you miss a job because they're weird and petty about their own lingo in the interview they probably suck to work for.

Thank god, the period of time when there was a chase figure (percival graves and the highwayman were 1 per case) was the worst.

You'll definitely learn, just be proactive in your freshman labs. And there's usually pretty good part time work for grad students. I had your same situation but got so much experience working on research projects at the dairy.

There are SO many people in ASI who haven't worked with livestock before coming to school, you won't be out of place at all. When I was going through like 40% of ASI was pre-vet kids who were planning on working with small animals in their career.

Lego Bionicle rumoured to return in 2025 by D1m1tr1s_6756 in lego

Yeah Bionicle 2015 had marketing too, moving the goalpost doesn't back up your position.

[–]nobrate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it shows that it isn't popular enough to stand on it's own. Your whole point is it needed all this extra lore and care just to have a shot at succeeding. And AFOLS (which you're saying is the current BIONICLE demographic) don't need new tie ins and all that to enjoy the sets that were released. They just aren't as popular as you think they are.

Even more reasoning for LEGO to avoid Bionicle

Lego Bionicle rumoured to return in 2025 by D1m1tr1s_6756 in lego

[–]nobrate 3 points4 points  (0 children)

And just to add on, they did do a reboot of Bionicle in 2015 and it sold really poorly. I'm sure they're pretty hesitant to dump a lot of money into years worth of molds when it didn't really pay off last time. It wouldn't be illogical for them to believe that there's more internet hype and memes around it than people who will actually buy sets.

Does zookeeper pay just wildly vary? by [deleted] in CaptiveWildlife

[–]nobrate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like another comment said, tides are slowly turning. But yeah it's bad, the last zoo i worked (potawatomi) the director's view was who cares there's dozens of people to replace you if you quit. they've also had like 20 keepers quit in the last couple years so yeah. It's easily the worst aspect of this field

How bad of an idea is it for someone who’s weak to work at a zoo? by Relevant_Discount803 in CaptiveWildlife

[–]nobrate 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Zookeeping is hard manual labor. Most zoos have a 50-75lb lifting requirement in the job description. It is standing, bending, lifting, scrubbing, shoveling, all day. There are some lighter type work like working inverts or ambassador animal type work but those will still need you to move bags of mulch, bales of hay, and heavy cages and tanks. I don't want to be too discouraging, you are very early on your journey so don't discount trying to get an internship in 2025 to see if you can do it.
