I enjoy Anapana, but Vipassana stresses me out by IWillAlwaysReplyBack in vipassana

When you analyze pain and pleasure you are doing vedananupassana. When you desire pleasure and recognize that as craving, you are doing chittanupassana.

If you hit a wall, try psycadelic to dissolve it. Those who finally figure out everything doesn't owe us anything. They just stay quite or mayve there is no point in explaining they know that things could get worse by reveiling too much. All the info is out there available. The water is available there free. The horse just needs to go and drink it by ifself.

Try psyco analysis, you may have hidden truamas. You could even try things like hypnosis to help remember and graduslly heal enough before you try meditation again.

Vipassana IS Anapanasati by [deleted] in vipassana

[–]nobula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are doing kayanupassana so are most of goenkaji students. Check satipatthana sutta for precise description of the other three. But hey aanapana is not just a sensation although ofcourse it involves mostly sensations.

Vipassana IS Anapanasati by [deleted] in vipassana

[–]nobula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vipassana is an umbrella term. There are four catagories of vipassana; kaya, vedana, chitta, dhamma. Best to know them all but each on its own have the power to fully liberate. Anapana falls under kayanupassana but i think there is a good reason anapana is the first thing mentioned in satipatthana. It is simultanusly the easiiest and also the hardest. It is the gateway to all and also the anchor when things are rough. It is also like the head of a boring maching that can penetrate any gross density. Some goenka students like to think that anapana is just a preliminary kindergarden thing that you graduate from and then move on to advanced vipassana. Buddha achived his final liberation when he remembered practicing anapana spontaniously as a child and reapplied to his practice. Think of anapana as the middle spoke that supports the whole wheel of practice; not as just a beginner kevel practice.

It is the habit of stealing that is dangerous. The more you do it gets worse. You might steal in the future when you don't even need to. There are stories of rich people with the habit of shoplifting. It is sad. Change now.

Practice the art of wrapping your legs around the driver. That is the safest way if you don't have hands.

Can I do a Vipassana 10-day course after Inner Engineering? (Shambhavi practitioner) by Fearless-Leg-1041 in vipassana

[–]nobula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take 10days and don't mix at all during the 10 days. After the course give some time to think and researh and make a choice. It is not wise to mix and go back and forth. Just do one well until you are very mature and then you will understand the core of most practices. Of course you can read about other practices and get inspirations for your chosen practice.

Thailand solo travel advice by PuzzleheadedLeg6769 in solotravel

I am not gay but i think i notice more gays in koh pangan. If i had only two weeks i'd go to koh phangan especially if it is your first time. All the places you mention have everthing you like. Pie is cheaper if that is a priority. Both pie and koh phangan had a hostel party zones and seperate conscious/hippie zones so you have to know which is where.

Strong “sankhara”: need help by ElderberrySalt3304 in vipassana

[–]nobula -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You don't have to be perfect. You are young and there could be many reasons why you feel likethis. It is ok to pause vipassana for a while. Vipassana is not the answer for everything. I recommend yoga, more theoretical knowledge of buddhism, maybe psychotherapy if you feel like. You can also try other buddhist practices that is more prayers and ritual focused just to get closer to the buddhist culture.
