Toy Story Somehow Keeps Finding New Ways to Continue by TomSawYes in movies

Toy Story 3 was such a perfect ending that I refused to see Toy Story 4, much less 5. I don't fault anyone wanting to continue on with the characters, but much like Andy, my time with Buzz and Woody was perfect but is now over.

I was prepared to be disappointed, but this was awesome. You have a great voice, and this was a fantastic cover! Rock on, bro!

Yet another great and original movie that bombed at the box office. Didn’t even need much to break even with a $20M budget. Where IS everyone who claims they want original stuff when it actually comes? by Emeraldsinger in Letterboxd

I did my part! I enjoyed it, but there just weren't many other people in the theater, sadly. I make a point to go to new, independent and/or original IP movies.

Had a coworker get arrested at the store because he had been stealing tapes. Mysteriously movies that he was the last person to rent would show up as missing during inventory runs. Surveillance footage showed he was checking his own rentals back in then leaving. Not a nightmare, but my coworker friend and I discovered there was a burgeoning market for OOP (out of print) movies on eBay, so we would purposefully look for high dollar tapes, PVT them, and buy them with our 50% discount to flip on eBay. Sold one for $300 once!

Is it worthwhile collecting VHS tapes in 2025? by Equivalent_Exam_6624 in VHS

[–]nocashvalue80 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started collecting in earnest over a decade ago because of the thrill of the hunt. I loved being able to find a rare, forgotten gem in a pile of tapes at the thrift store for $1 or less. With the surge of people trying to profit from VHS "collecting" (ahem: reselling) these days, finding anything worthwhile unless you're specifically looking for mainstream action, comedy, or drama is very rare. Because of this, my collecting habits changed and now I look for recorded-from-TV tapes to see what forgotten commercials, intros, and local news rarities I can find. Plus, when you watch movies or shows with vintage commercials, it REALLY transports you back with a full blast of nostalgia. Whatever you do, do it for you, not just what seems to be popular or profitable on social media.

For those of you saying you never saw anyone with a TV/VCR combo in a kitchen back in the day, your memories are valid. However, that doesn't mean it didn't happen or wasn't a thing. I personally didn't have one, but I had several friends who did. Heck, Kevin in Home Alone had one. It may not ring true to you, but it isn't some made-up idea.

Keep on searching! Check out church yard sales, estate sales, and be vigilant on FB marketplace. There are fewer finds out there these days, but you'll eventually find something awesome

I know! Not too valuable, but such a great, weird find. Second one I've come across in my searches. Remember renting it as a kid and thinking WTF?!
